FAIR GO POLICY APPLIES

  • 5G capable: This device is capable of working on the Optus 5G network, which is rolling out in selected areas. Not available in NT or TAS. When not in a 5G coverage area, the device will switch to the Optus 4G or 3G network where it is available. For more details, check optus.com.au/5GCoverage.

How we calculate total min. cost: Your min. cost is the minimum total amount you will be required to pay, when you sign up to a SIM plan or a SIM plan with a device payment plan.

When you sign up to a month to month SIM plan without a device payment plan, your min. cost is one month of your SIM plan fee.
When you sign up to a month to month SIM plan (which includes a plan fee discount) without a device payment plan, your min. cost is one month of your discounted SIM plan fee.
When you sign up to a month to month SIM plan with a device payment plan, your min. cost is the cost of your device in full plus one month of your SIM plan fee.
When you sign up to a month to month SIM plan (which includes a plan fee discount) with a device payment plan, your min. cost is the cost of your device in full plus one month of your discounted SIM plan fee.
When you sign up to a month to month SIM plan with a device payment plan (which includes a device discount), your min. cost is the cost of your device in full (less one month of your device credit amount) plus one month of your SIM plan fee.
When you sign up to a month to month SIM plan (which includes a plan fee discount) with a device payment plan (which includes a device discount), your min. cost is the cost of your device in full (less one month of your device credit amount) plus one month of your discounted SIM plan fee.
Our Changes to Plans (month to month): We may make changes to your month-to-month mobile plan, including to the price or inclusions. This could include moving you to a new plan, which may cost more. We’ll give at least 30 days’ notice of any increase to plan access fees, any data inclusion decrease or any plan moves. If you don’t like the change, you can choose a new plan (once per payment cycle) or cancel.

Optus Choice Plans (month-to-month): You can change to another eligible plan once per payment cycle or cancel at any time. If you change your plan, any related device payment plan will remain in place and the payments will remain the same. You may lose existing add-ons if you change to a plan that is not eligible for these and you will not receive a pro rata refund. If your plan is cancelled, there are no cancellation fees but you will not receive a pro rata refund for the reminder of the payment cycle, unless otherwise provided in our standard agreement and subject to your consumer law rights. Any related device payment plan will be cancelled and you’ll have to pay out any remaining payments owing as a one off payment with any device credits or discounts forfeited. You are responsible for all charges incurred on your account by any linked Optus Kids Plans, including device charges. You will be automatically charged via card once per month for recurring charges and any add-ons. You must maintain your card payment details or your plan will be cancelled.

Standard International Calls and Text plan inclusion: $55, $65 and $85 Optus Choice inclusions for standard international calls and text can be used to the following selected destinations: Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, Mainland China, Columbia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Laos, Lebanon, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam. Destinations are subject to change. Calls and texts to other destinations are not included.

Roaming Add-ons: Available on selected mobile plans in select destinations. You may automatically be charged via card on activation of the add-on, if no payment is made you will still have access to the add-on and the amount will be added to your next monthly invoice. Your add-on time starts on activation (shortly after your purchase), we recommend purchasing in your chosen destination. Usage alerts are sent at 50%/85%/100% of your data inclusions. Add-on includes unlimited standard national talk and text in a Zone 1 destination or to Australia. Add-on expires once inclusions are used or once the add-on duration has ended (whichever is first).

Device Payment Plans (Optus Pay): You must have an eligible Optus plan to add a Device Payment Plan. If you need to cancel your Device Payment Plan before the end of the agreed term, or you need to cancel your related eligible Optus plan during the Device Payment Plan term or you want to move to an ineligible plan during the Device Payment Plan term, then you’ll need to pay out the full remaining cost of your device. Device credits or discounts that Optus was going to cover do not apply in these cases. Limit of one related device payment plan per Data plan. You will be automatically charged via card on your monthly invoice date. You must maintain your card payment details or your plan will be cancelled.

Usage alerts: Usage alerts are typically real-time but delays of up to 48 hours may be experienced. You will receive alerts in Australia and while roaming overseas via SMS. However, you can change your preferred method of receiving usage alerts and service notifications anytime by visiting My Account. To learn more about usage alerts, click here.

Data Add-ons: Available on selected mobile plans. Each add-on can be added once per 24 hrs, per service. You may automatically be charged via card on activation of the add-on, if no payment is made you will still have access to the add-on and the amount will be added to your next monthly invoice. The inclusion of your Data Add-on is added to your shared data allowance on your account. Data is counted in KB increments and includes uploads and downloads. Usage alerts are sent at 50%/85%/100% of your shared data. Add-on expires if data used or at end of payment cycle (whichever is first). Data can only be used in Australia.

International Talk and Text add-ons: Available on selected mobile plans to select destinations. You may automatically be charged via card on activation of the add-on, if no payment is made you will still have access to the add-on and the amount will be added to your next monthly invoice. Usage alerts are sent at 50%/85%/100% of your talk and text inclusions. Add-on expires once inclusions are used or at end of payment cycle (whichever is first). Add-on can only be used in Australia.

Coverage: Coverage availability will vary depending on your device and location. Check coverage at optus.com.au/coverage.

Optus Sport: Subscription required. Fair Go Policy applies. Personal viewing in Australia only. Content and features vary by sport. Sport coverage is available as long as Optus has the rights. Optus Sport is a month-to-month subscription. Compatible device, and Australian app store account required. Optus Sport will work best with an internet bandwidth of at least 3Mbps. Use of other internet applications on the same internet connection at the same time may cause a degradation in video quality.

No Excess Data Charges: If shared data allowance is exceeded, all shared data services on your account will be slowed to a maximum speed of 1.5Mbps (suitable for general internet browsing and music streaming, however some activities such as video streaming may see increased buffering and loading times). Usage while slowed is unmetered. Applies to data usage in Australia only.

good deal for those people need a backup phone

    • Plus Optus offers shared data

  • +4

they're basically selling their plan and giving you the phone for free.

  • +5

Cheaper to buy the phone for $199 at bigW and go on a $25 20gb plan.

    • Apart from the fact that Belong is complete turd

      • +2

There are plenty of other companies that offer similar deals. Found one that's $15/m for 30gb for the first 12months.

I got excited when I went to the Special SIM Plan Offer for WA page and could add the Oppo to the cheapest plan for $1.50 pm over 12 months, effectively making it $288 all inclusive, but when I go to checkout, it changes the handset to a Samsung Galaxy A13 :(

    • +2

Update: Somehow I jagged it, and looks like this URL works if anyone from WA wants to use it.

Same handset with the Medium Plan (total $29 pm) here

May also be eligible for $55 cashback via Cashrewards?

      • +1

I can confirm I have just received notification of $55 cash back tracked by Cashrewards. $196.70 for a year with a phone… considering my son's Belong $10 plan is about to go up to $15, this is only costing me an extra $1.39pm for the phone :) Nice find!

        • Awesome. I think unlock is free too, as the phone is on a post-paid plan.

          • @ozwog05: even better if true… I did ask their support and this was their response:

I see that when you get a Oppo phone with an Optus plan
You have to use Optus network till you pay out the phone

So if you get in 12 months you will have to use Optus on the plan that you got

            • @vvoltt: Fair enough. Probably just applies to phones that are purchased outright.

    • Great find!

  • Optus are extremely bad at the present moment. I'd avoid.

  • vodafail has TCL 20 R 5G for $46.80 but 24 months instead of 12month

  • "Their cheapest plan is 45 dollars"

    Lol, I'm paying 15$/month with Aussie Broadband… that's essentially 360$ less a year. The phone is 249$ on retail…

Not to mention the detail that I'm with Aussie Broadband because I got fed up with Optus…

    • And you are just using 1GB/Month?

      • I'm not even reaching 1GB/Month.
