  I am new to this game and I'd like to get one now.

  But I am kinda confused when I look at the options on Amazon, there are expansion and one size, ect, did some Googling and looks like I should get the one size as a start? which doesnt have any expansion? Any recommendations? Thanks!

    Catan has expansions (which add new rules and other elements to the gameplay) and extensions (which allow for greater number of players).

    The version that is listed in this deal is the base game without any expansions or extensions and is perfectly a good starting point for new players. If you do not intend to ever have more than 4 players (including yourself) then you can also disregard extensions altogether.

    There are a couple of extra changes like you can build on any turn when you get resources.
    But the time impact from 4 -> 5 players is astronomical. Games take houuuuuurs

  Also Catan Seafarers Expansion is in lowest price $43.95 according to Camel. I couldn't post the deal because the seller has a low rating amount, but I received mine without any issue. See if anyone interested.
