Giving Reputation / Ratings for Reps based on deals / follow up in the comments

We all know some Reps here are so much better than others,

Every time the dealfox guy (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/58254) or the memory citi guy posts a deal http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/69283 my fingers twitch to buy them. And judging by the comments, I am not alone. Last count atleast 8 people said they bought the memory cards even when they didn’t need them because the deal was so good.

I think there should be a way for users to add to the rep's reputation by giving him + votes that stay with him on his profile for future deals. Say for exp like "Stars" next to their profile name or something else like that that makes them distinct from other reps.

I hate it when reps post a deal and then don't follow through with replies to questions in their comments etc.

If a rep has been posting genuine good deals that get over 200 + votes for the deal, how about adding a logo recognising the efforts and the reputation of the rep here?

This will encourage the reps to post more deals here will add to the reputation and give them a slight advantage over other fly by night operators. Might also encourage genuine new reps to post good deals to gain a reputation.

    I agree with this.

Doing all kinds of things like this will just mean the reps will want to post better deals.

Scotty how else can we incentivise the reps for being mroe responsive when they post deals on Ozbargain..

Yes this has been an issue with some reps who treat OzBargain as a place to post free advertising, rather than wanting to engage with the community. Agree that we need to encourage them to be more responsive.

There is some plan in the pipeline to allow users and stores to be rated, but some thought needs to go into what effect those ratings have. Will keep you posted…
