'Accordingly, the basic package fee, which was TL 26.99 ($1.83), increased to TL 37.99 ($2.58), the standard package fee was raised from TL 40.99 to TL 57.99, and the special package fee from TL 54.99 to TL 77.99.

The company, which made price increased between 30% to 50% in many countries at the beginning of 2022, made the last hike in Turkey prices in March 2021.

  • They’re onto us :(

  • I'm sure they will increase shortly but at present my Premium TL sub has not increased.

    • Same though if I look at the plans in my account and select change the other levels have the new pricing shown, so I assume it might kick in next bill cycle :/

Where am I going to find an extra $2 a mth

  • nice

It’s normal currently in turkey inflation is around 120% or so

It was only a matter of time before the war affected the price in the communication sector.

The International value of the Lira has fallen off a cliff this year, so hardly surprising.
The only surprise is how long it took them to make the change.

It remains the cheapest, closely followed by Pakistan. Prices are less than a third of what you would pay in AUD.

My TL 54.99 subscription was AUD $8.50 - $9 when I started, and has gone to $5 this month. So even with the hike to TL 77.99 it seems it'll only be around $7 or so?

    • That still sounds fairly reasonable then.

    • Yep exactly right, I’ve been a turkey “resident” for a long time and this price rise is still less than how much it used to be, given the current value of the TL. I think I can manage $7 a month for something that costs $23 in australia!

people could be really bothered with this lol

  • Just got my subscription price change increase email.
The new price of the 4K premium package (77.99 TL) works out about $7.20 AUD at the moment.

    • The price hikes are being rolled slowly.

Still for us who reside in Turkey but pay in AUD it’s within the $7-8 range which imo is still reasonable especially if you share it with others.

But if they start cracking on password sharing, that could be a deal breaker for many.

  • wait til password sharing fees kick in

  • Just got the email today on price increasing

  • Was just asked to “revalidate” my payment method, when I did it asks for my phone number. Country code fixed on +90 which is Turkey. They seem to be closing as many doors as possible.

Now to find a virtual SMS provider and see if I can get around this challenge.

    • You didn’t have your Aussie number on file ?

      • I did, but more it seem to want a Turkish number.

This is worrying for all of us.

Please report back what you did to solve it.

  • Just got an email about this, hell of a percentage increase.

  • Likewise, just got my price increase email. I've been keeping a spreadsheet of what I've been paying and at the current exchange rate 71.99 TL is about $7.38 which is about 10c more than the 12 month rolling average of my payments. The last few months of ~$5 charges have dragged the average down but even before the Lira dropped off a cliff we were averaging around $8 so this is still cheaper than previous rates. Overall it's not going to make much difference to me since I split this amount with my family anyway.

  • Looks like they're onto us guys … now requiring a Turkish mobile number to confirm account.

    • That's always been the case I thought, hence the workaround using Turkish gift cards to get the account up and running.

  • For now I've given up trying to switch to Turkish Netflix and just renewed in AUS dollallars … might try again later in the year.

  • Just got my price rise email, effective 12 June :)

  • Got same email effective 13th June.

got the email going from 40.99TL to 57.99TL so approx $5pm versus $16.99

    • Yup.
I don't understand all the fuss.

      • +1

especially given the turkish lira value keeps dropping

    • Sharing my thoughts ……
NF is increasing prices to compensate for falling value of TL.
It is still going to cost the same in AUD
