Immigration and customs at Changi SIN atm?

Hi all, anyone have any recent experience of customs and immigration processing times with COVID controls in place at SIN? I’m planning to travel through there to Europe return but on different tickets AU-SG and SG- EU, hence I need to clear immigration, collect bags, check in and clear again. Flights I’m looking at have two hours between. Pre-COVID I would do it, but post, not sure if it’s too ambitious.

Cheers

  • Will be a very tight two hours exit & enter in today's covid-scaredy world.

You will need a PCR/RAT test within 48hours of departure to enter Singapore, even though your destination in Europe is unlikely to require a pre-departure test.

    • It’s feeling like it will be too close, but I’m tempted to try. If the plane gets in early it will work perfectly but if it’s delayed I can cancel the onward flight I’m the air (pending T&C) and rebook. Risky though!

  • Went through recently. Waited 1 hour getting through customs inbound. Then a week later, didn't see a line at all.

Great thing with SIN is security is at the GATE so going back through customs should be a breeze after check-in.

Alternatively (and I've done this in the past) is you can avoid going through all this by going to a TRANSFER DESK. I was on two separate PNR's (both OneWorld airlines though) and the transfer desk arranged for someone to pick up my checked luggage at the carousel, re-label to the new destination then send it on its way. Worked a breeze, although not sure if still an option in these post-COVID times.

    • Great info - thank you. I’m doing QF up to SIN then TK out to Europe so not sure how / if that would work for the transfer desk option…

I love how Scott Morrison let his wife take the blame for his trip to Hawaii while Australia was lit up…..

    Typical Liberals … blame others.

    • Agree, but not relevant here mate.
