Any Good Food/Grocery Items Better off Getting from Amazon if You Have Prime Rather than from Coles/Woolies/ALDI etc

Basically I have amazon prime and wondering if there is anything worth getting from amazon over say coles woolies or aldi since delivery for me would be free compared to $2 to $8 from coles on a good day and $15 and above from Woolworths.

Wondering if there are any unique items also that you can't get from local supermarkets that is still good value from Amazon.

I guess this would be for Amazon AU mostly since I am not sure if Amazon AU prime affects other Amazon regions or not.

Thanks.

Haha as you may can tell I have the late night munchies.. or morning whichever way you see it :)

I hope my fellow insomniacs are doing alright this evening.

  • anything worth getting from amazon over say coles woolies or aldi since delivery

Yes anything that are cheaper on amazon and you need them

    • Mainly looking for examples that anyone has found.

Personally the convenience of delivery is nice but I have only seen soft drinks matching up to Colesworth prices.

  • bathroom and cleaning stuff. Omo Kleenex tissues Dove Soap Disinfectant wipes, creams, razors. Can get even cheaper if you put subscription

  • Tipco juices from Thailand are cheaper compared to Coles. Amazon $3.85, Coles $4.xx

  • Amazon is good when they price match Coles on LKK double deluxe soy sauce or oyster sauce as they are often out of stock at the latter when on special.

We get bulk toilet paper, tissues, paper towel, nappies, pet food delivered every 2 months through subscribe & save (sorry postman). It's nice not needing to worry about basics like that when you go grocery shopping, plus you get 10% off through S&S.

    • Oh I remember when Viva Paper Towels had a good deal I S&S to that immediately but they ran out of stock and when they resubscribed the price was not locked and changed (went higher).

Also toilet paper is good I remember from S&S.

  • amazon price match most coles and woolies sales
then u get 5 percent extra for sub and save (which u can cancel after u receive the product)

    • Oh I do this a lot but so far only with soft drinks and toilet paper and paper towels.

I find it hard to find value supermarket buys at Amazon. On 90% of weeks I'm using a spend X for y points average 20% discount at Colesworth, stacking with discounted gcs. It's hard to beat

Same for me but discount between 25 - 40%. For years I have only shopped with at least 25% off and using GC as well. Although you can use GC for amazon too they still cannot compete with the bonus offers.

    Hi,
    I'm liking UberPass @ $9.99 per month.
    https://www.ubereats.com/au/eats-pass

This gives you access to IGA "Save on Select Items" that are cheaper than Supermarkets and Uber delivered.

Look for the Items in Green at the Lower Price.

I've got to the point if Amazon's price is identical to Colesworth I'll just order from them - getting old and lazy to do my own shopping it seems.

    • Most Coleswort locations are in shopping centres in the Newcastle area and a pain to go into, or the site is usually busy. Most Aldi's are on their own, so shopping is generally quick (unless there is only 1 register open , and the inconsiderate person doesn't let you in, whilst they unpack).

    • I never order from woolies any more but if something is unique to there and not in Coles I'll maybe pick it up on the way home.

Coles I opt for the $2 delivery 6 hour windows sometimes $4 if I can't find a good time and need it soon.

Amazon because I have prime yeah I'm trying to find what items I can just get from Amazon instead now since prime makes delivery free.

Moccona I bought on subs and save at $16.10? Discounted from $18. I also love ve to buy their Ranong Thai tea. 10 packets but I only use half packet for one serve. Don't think you can buy this cheaper elsewhere.

  • Nappies, toilet paper and paper towels. Things that are really unpleasant to get into car with a baby in tow. I have only ever bought one box of nappies at the shops, never again!
