Been looking to get the Pro version of the GT2, as I love the GT2. It has been cheaper in the past, but not for a long time.

I considered buying this in the past because it looks like a nice design with decent build quality. But fitness/health tracking and notifications are not enough for me to consider this a smart watch. It’s a premium fitness tracker in my opinion.

    • That's not the pro

      • OP said love GT2

        • I have a GT2, I now want the GT2 Pro

Has been an expensive watch for you! Gt2 then gt2 pro haha. Could have bought an actual smart watch 😂

This watch is all I need. Any current "Smart" watch will struggle to get more than 2 days out of a charge.
This one will easily last 10+ days on a charge and I find a 15min charge while showering will cover 24hrs of usage. I had several Samsung watches and they did nothing I needed more than this watch.

      • Nice! I just found the health tracking so limiting with no option for major tracking apps and also no spotify offline. Otherwise I would have kept my GT2. I did find that the battery was all over the shop, often I could get through a day with say 5% left, but some days it would drain much more than 5%. I found it very erratic. Great watch though if you just want notifications etc.

  • I really liked mine, but had to stop wearing it :(
If I had it on my wrist for longer than 3-4 days (even removing it when I go to bed) it would start to agitate my skin and a rash would appear around where I was wearing the watch.
Take it off and after a week or so the rash would go away.
Originally I put it down to a coincidence, so tried it again and hay presto the rash came back. left it for a month or so and tried again, and exactly the same result.
No idea what they coat it in, but it's something that doesn't like me apparently.

I replaced the band with a metal mesh band. It is possible the OEM band is causing the skin problem.

I had to do the same with my Ticwatch as it was causing irritation on my wrist. Replaced it with a metal mesh band and never looked back.

What kind of band did yours have, out of interest? I've used the soft-rubber type bands on Huawei watches/fitness trackers for a few generations and have had no issues while wearing basically 24/7 (and I have quite irritable skin).

Perhaps it's the leather-style bands? Good to know (obviously it's anecdotal, but that's still important to know)

I get this with the underside of the watch (GT2). I clean the underside of the watch and my skin where the watch sits with hand sanitiser once every 3-4 days and it's eliminated the problem.

it would start to agitate my skin

I have this problem with some cheap smart watch before but not the GT2.

      • +1

You only needed to keep both clean to eliminate the rash. To be fair this is a cheap watch still.

    • Thanks, everyone for the hints about the band,.. to be honest, I never thought that could be the issue.
      OzBargain community is great sometimes.
Now off to get myself a new band and see how that goes :D

  • Was $298 before
