Free Coffee Perk from Up Banking

UP Bank has been running this promotion for quite some time.

"While Perk-up is running use your Up card (physical or digital) on a spend of up to $6.50, and there’s a chance that you’ll get it for free. Perth or Melbourne, it’s all good - we’ll roll with your time zone."

I registered some months ago but have NEVER gotten a win. Anyone here who has been winning free coffees, could you please share what you believe has given you higher chances? E.g. Is your savings high, are you spending a lot? Are you using your card frequently? I believe there is some sort of algorithm they have.

I think it's random. First time they started running perk up the customer base was a lot smaller and I got it 3-4 times, nowadays it's not happening for me anymore.

    • Wow really? Are you actively using Up?

      • Yup, daily account.

Yeah, I've been with UP for a couple years now. Won once or twice when I first signed up … nothing now. @wert120's right … probably because they've grown so much, less opportunities. :(

    • I see! Thanks! your name checks haha
Reaffirms my decision to invest in a coffee machine

    • I also to thought I'd ask you since you're.the coffeekid. What coffee pod machine has the most compatibility for many different capsule pod brands out there? E.g. I think Aldi capsule machine you are restricted to just Aldi's pods.

  • Haha!

I'm not the biggest fan of coffee pod machines, but this is what I have at home for emergency….

    - you can make your own coffee pods with your own coffee that way.

    BUUUUTTT

What I would recommend is that you just have a search through facebook marketplace/gumtree and get some second hand gear. I got a basic bodum bistro grinder and Breville espresso machine for around $100ish … I can guarantee the coffee will be waayy better if you do it that way.

Fingers crossed we get a free UP coffee soon. :)

    • Thanks. I hear pods/capsules are more expensive but I just love the taste of it, it feels like barista made because it's sealed once they've packed it.

      Thanks for the tips!
