Razer Pro Type Ultra Wireless Mechanical Keyboard $196.65 Delivered @ Bing Lee eBay

Original Coupon Deal

Another deal for a wireless mechanical keyboard.

I have been following it for a while and I believe this is the lowest price ever.

Good for those who prefer a more subtle look than the usual RGB lit keyboards.

I didn't purchase this one though since I got the G915 from another deal earlier this week.

Please note this is the Ultra model which costs more than the non-ultra model.

Main differences according to rting.com:

The Razer Pro Type and the Razer Pro Type Ultra are nearly identical, but the Ultra comes with a wrist rest. Also, the Ultra uses the Razer Productivity Dongle, meaning you can connect another device to it if it uses the same receiver as well. While the Pro Type comes with tactile Razer Orange switches only, the Ultra comes with linear Razer Yellow switches only.

Just a couple of warnings for anyone considering, the F keys are mapped to multimedia buttons for some stupid reason (supposed to be a productivity keyboard) and there is no F lock or other setting to change it back, other than remapping them in Synapse and leaving it running at all times. I’ve also had connectivity issues with both this and the Pro Click when using their dongles, and Razer support is awful, so have reverted to wired mode. Apart from those two things it is a great keyboard so if neither bother you then this is a great deal.

    • I love Razer peripherals (typing on one now and have a bunch of others), but Synapse is cancer for your PC. What a POS application.

    • They won't replace it? My Pro Click just recently stopped connecting via Bluetooth. After a few emails they have agreed to send me a new mouse

  • I was hopping the ultra version have bigger battery as currently compare to other brand (Royal Kludge, Anko, Logitech or Keychron), Razer wireless mechanical keyboard battery is quite bad :(

  • Sounds like some pretty big issues for a $200 keyboard

I bought the first version of this ('orange' switches, no wrist rest, wireless only - cable just for charging) as i wanted to be able to switch between my IOT devices quickly without requiring a kvm switch.

    • Many of the keys have an issue where they will double type. I have to proofread through everything i write for any double spaces or characters in words.
    • Battery Life. lucky to get 24h with backlight on. has different brightness settings. even without backlight on, the battery life is quite low (i am use to other keyboards lasting months on a single AA etc).
    • Keyboard always goes to sleep, which basically means it deactives the bluetooth, and so if using bluetooth you have to wake the keyboard up and wait for it to pair again which can take 10sec of just sitting there waiting. Synapse settings doesn't appear to let you turn this off, and the configuration options are miserably neglected.
    • some keys have a significant wiggle, in particular the spacebar - makes it feel cheap and flimsy.
    • still makes a bit of sound typing (im using their orange switch tho from the first model) considering its for a more quite / office setting, but not too bad, just exppected it to be much quiter.

I do want to get another keyboard, but having spent $150 on it, its a disappointing purchase ill hang on to.

This newer version advertised it probably a bit better, but i would google about problems regarding keyboard sleeping / bluetooth dropping, potential keycap wiggle, and doubling of input etc, they may have fixed those.

  • $200 is getting close to premium group buy custom keyboards that would be waaaaay better than this

    • premium

      doubtful

      group buy custom keyboards

      yeah, these days for sure

      • Some very good ones are coming in at USD $200 which is AUS $270 … Not that much more if already spending $200.

  • I'd just spend a bit more and get a G915, or wait as they come down to $199 occasionally

Love Razer mice, their headsets are OK, literally everything else is overpriced garbage

  • If it doesn't have a much better battery than I would not recommend this keyboard at all. I have the regular type and I got a great deal so I'm not upset but charging it so often is such a pain compared to wireless mice or headsets. You also cant use it while it's charging, it just cuts out on you for a while until you wait long enough.
