Salary Packaging OR Victorian Dining & Entertainment Program?

Due to my current tax bracket, using my allowance from Salary Packaging for Meal and Entertainment works out better than the 25% rebate offered by the Victorian Dining & Entertainment Program. However, as I may end up using up my salary packaging allowance this year, I was thinking I may as well make use of the Victorian Dining & Entertainment Program while it is still ongoing.

My question is: is the rebate from the Victorian Program taxable? Common sense would suggest that it is not, but I can't see any information on ATO or Victorian Government website regarding this. Does anyone have any reference or official information on this?

  • Victorian Dining & Entertainment Program is not taxable.

Btw if you paid with ur salary package, you should still be able to claim the VIC dining & entertainment program cause all you need is a tax invoice.

  • It's not income - therefore not taxable
