Sign up a New Plan on The Contract End Day Cause Early Termination Fee?

My JB Hi-Fi contract ended on 10th March, and I signed up a new Telstra plan on the same day (10th March).

I just got the bill from Telstra, there is a total of $4.031 Early Termination Fee shown on the bill.

I'm just curious, why has this caused an Early Termination Fee?

    March 10 ends 1 second after 23:59:59.

    • so technically speaking,my old plan should be ended on March 11

Then you'd be charged for pro rata after the 10th march

      • March 10, 23:59:59

Technically speaking is still March 10

        Practically speaking March 11.

  • First time plan contract?

You could have checked with telstra live chat or even the jb staff member who could have clarified.

Either way it’s $4… the time it took you draft and reply the posts would have been worth more than $4. I wouldn’t stress about it.

  • Call them and ask as only someone who works for Telstra can answer this as they will need access to your contracts and what the exact working is and how their internal systems work.

  • Either 1 day of Early Termination, or 1 day pro-rata plan fee. There is no perfect day.

At least with pro-rata plan fee, you get half a day service ;)
