Does Honey coupon even work?

I saw Mr Beast promoting the Honey vouchers and reward app. I've been giving it a go for a couple of months now without paying any membership, and most of the vouchers or in fact, none at all seem to be working. Even if the ones that are working, is only like a few cents discount.

Just wondering have anyone got any working or good deals from it?

    Nope

  • Doesn't exactly "Scan the Internet" for you, it is a user-based system where the user can submit a coupon, the agents verify it, and then it gets added.
Whilst I haven't exactly scored "HUGE SAVINGS", I have saved a couple of $'s here or there. I guess it's more just the "Honey Gold" part where I've picked up the savings. I suppose it could be seen as a simplified version of say Cash Rewards or Shop Back.
I think it is alright as in the end, a saving is a saving and free shipping is free shipping. So, again I mean the choice is yours, but for me it does work is completely worth it (especially as it is free).

  • I use it. I’ve managed to get random 10% offs every few weeks. 10% off is better than 0% off.

Honey is owned by Paypal but the majority of Honey coupons are US-centric. Paypal makes money from commissions with the 21,000 online merchants they've partnered with, and about 9,000 of those merchants pay Honey commissions. You might also have noticed that Microsoft's Edge browser now has a similar product that competes with Honey. Same concept.

If the coupon doesn't work then it's probably because the merchant has turned off commission payouts. Or if Honey couldn't find coupons for the store its probably because they weren't partners with Honey.

Users can also submit coupons to honey and presumably their staff members will test the code before it's added to their system. I assume most people won't bother with submitting any coupons or don't even know that feature even exists.

      I subscribed for a cookie.

  • Have had the Honey browser extension for a few years now, and whilst it doesn't work for every store and online purchase, it has happened to save me a few cents or even a dollar or two with some purchases. Worked with an order from JD Sports and Eneba, some other sites too but I forgot.

It's free anyway, so it doesn't hurt to keep on trying!

As long as you have no issue with them harvesting your data, no, it doesn't hurt.

Having said that, their privacy policy actually seems like they're not actively harvesting your data, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
