Extended Dual Display via USB 3.1 Data Only Ports

I am trying to connect two displays via HDMI to my HP Laptop that has USB 3.1 Type C and Type A Data Transfer Only Ports. I was told in another forum that the only solution was to get a Display Link Dock.

Can anyone think of a possible solution to connect a second display?

HP Notebook 14-dq1033cl (Intel Core i5-1035G4, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) is not old.

  • This list will show you what docks have DisplayLink since any old adaptor won't always have it. It's updated quite regularly and I use it to find docks that'll work with Apple M1 where DisplayLink is required.

Just remember to buy from a store that accepts no fault returns of open box products. Because what you are trying to do is extremely difficult and you are going to need to try many adapters. Good luck :D

    • I ordered the above USB A 3.0 to HDMI Adapter and should work.

Only Officework, Kmart, Bigh W and Costco accept open box returns of electronics

Received it today and works perfectly.
Drivers are saved on the device which acts like a flash drive.
