You might be out of luck regarding deals right now.

Look at Tyroola and put the sizes in and see what kind of prices come up and try to negotiate with your local Bob Jane etc.

if strictly driving within the city i would get the cheapest of the cheap.

otherwise i have been eyeing up Winrun brand tyres for my SUV

    Bridgestone's current deal is

Get the 4th tyre FREE on selected car tyres or up to$100 cash back on selected car, 4x4 and SUV tyres.

A good deal on a good brand of tyres.

    • Fitted dueler h/l 400's on our 2017 Tucson after the OEM's ran out of tread.
Had them on for 10000km and am currently on a trip around Tassie.
Great on all sorts of roads. Great wet and dry.
      Can recommend

I would advice you to first get a tyre thread depth checker and check if the tyres really need replacing.

    • Agree. Was told the same at my last service, had between 3mm and 5mm left…plenty IMO.

its a 2008 car being driven by an 18 year old - probably balder than a babys backside

      • It's also a Tuscon Tucson. Likely FWD heavy merda. Hardly losing traction off the lights.

I was always told even if the tread isn’t worn out the rubber deteriorates after 7 or so years?

Probably closer to 5 depending on who you believe.

      • is this by the tyre manufacturer?

        • A few mechanics told me this

  • Ring a couple of tyre shops. Ask for their recommendation. Pick your favourite. Doesn’t have to be the cheapest or most expensive, might just be the closest shop.

Tyres come in cheap, grippy and long lasting - pick any two.

End of the day, they are tyres. They’ll wear out again and you’ll need some more in a few years.
