  • I like the way the graphic has an asterisk implying terms and conditions, but there's no actual link to said terms and conditions. Great website design guys 🙄

    • I thought "strictly available while stocks last" was enough of a caveat, but yeah maybe they should specify it is only for in stock bikes.

Must be that time of year clearing out for the new models

That is an awesome deal on the emtb. I have the 2020 model - it's a great bike if you're into technical climbing as much as descending. Great componentry. If you're around 180cm the large is perfect.

    • Yep, hope it doesn't get cancelled as a pricing error. I was eyeing the polygon mt bromo n7 up until now. That merida is so many levels above for the same price.

      • It is shorter travel - it's more of a trail bike. If you're into technical it's awesome. If you're into general exploring it's also considered a great suv type of bike.

        • The bromo is more of a bike than I needed in terms of travel anyway, it was being considered simply for being the best option for the price. For what I ride, this merida is the better option. Would have liked full 29er I think, but I've not ridden a mullet so can't really form a true opinion.

          • @CyberGenesys: I haven't ridden a full 29er. I do like the mullet - on a couple of steep drops that can't be walked down, I make contact with the back wheel. I'd feel a bit precarious if my bum was 2" higher in that situation. It also shortens the wheel base and length of chainstay - both these things make for a more maneuverable bike. There are positives to a full 29er as well - it just depends what you want. The polygon supposedly will charge down anything, but not so maneuverable or as good on climbs with tight switchbacks etc.

If you're not too concerned with tight technical stuff, the polygon would be a great bike.

              @poohduck: It arrived :D

A couple of odd things about what I got though.

              • the box of 'little bits' was labled for a size small bike, didn't worry me as there are no size specific parts in it
              • there were manuals that didn't apply eg FSA cranks, Promax brakes, forks with carbon steerers etc
              • baggy of screws which I've no idea what they are for; 3x short (what I would expect for holding on an ISCG mount) and a long one, like for a steerer top cap
              • a plastic knife
              • Annoyingly missing the tool that goes under the seat, so I'll have to contact them.

Ther was also a small scuff on the fork sticker, so I suspect this was unpacked in the shop, but repacked for shipping.

      • Price has now changed back to $7499

    • Wish there was a large available!

  • Not many sizes of road bikes left

  • I got a good deal on the bike, but was not impressed with their customer service afterwards. The bike was missing the little multi-tool that is supposed to live in the pocket under the seat. After contacting them multiple times, they tell me it was packed ergo I must have lost it (or lost in shipping). After some back and forth, they stopped responding. The multi-tool has little to no value to me, but it was something that should have been included.

Since it's not worth my time to chase them up about it I'm just leaving this experience for future shoppers of The Odd Spoke.
