Ryobi Impact Drill Driver Kit

I know there are a few OzBargain hunters out there who know their tools, so I'm hoping you can help me in buying my first power tool - specifically a drill (for now). I've tried to do some research online on the differences between the different kinds of drills.

I'll be using it mainly for IKEA furniture assembly, minor home repairs and improvements, mostly with wood but occasionally with masonry/brickwork. So I was thinking the Ryobi Impact Drill Driver Kit, which I saw at Bunnings for $259. I'm interested in the ONE+ range so that I can add to my collection down the track.

My question is:
1. Is this the right drill for what I need? Or is it too much? Too little?
2. How does Ryobi compare with other brands (e.g. Bosch, Black & Decker, DeWalt, Makita, Metabo, Dremel)? I don't want something cheap and nasty like Ozito, but probably don't need professional top of the range stuff.
3. And the most important question…where can I find the best deal?

Thanks for your advice and experience in advance!!
