Got an "exclusive" SMS offer from Kogan Mobile that is not an offer at all.

Hi everyone,

Got a SMS from Kogan Mobile about a SMS only exclusive offer for existing customers and this is how the offer looks like : https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/217114/95419/smsoffer.…. $175 for 180gb 365 days plan.

What am I missing here? This is the standard everyday deal on kogan mobile ($150 for 200gb 365 days plan) and it seems better than the so called exclusive offer on all fronts : https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co…

Is this another one of those poorly executed 'kogan marketing promotion'?

My point is promotion is meant to be better than what’s already out there. It’s not about being interested in it or not. Is this an attempt to mislead? That’s my question.

    • There are any number of 'promotional offers' or 'sales' or 'discounts' every day that are not actually better than what else is on offer. It is up to the consumer to determine if it is a good deal for them or not.

In this case, it would only be misleading if Kogan did not provide full information related to the offer.

Really? Care to share some examples as I’ve seen lots of exclusive promos pushed that are certainly better that the standard offer but of course comes with a catch of some kind so that’s why fine prints must be read. But this one had nothing at all that’s appealing even on the surface.

It’s like Bunnings sends you an exclusive promo link and tells you that the same drill today only is for $100 if you click this link and buy it online when the store sells it for $90.
