  • Want to buy a women sports watch with transparent/plastic back, any suggestion?

  • The link price says 113GBP where is $122AUD from?

    • Says "Price: $113.00" for me..

    • are you all right??

      $113 for me, too.

    "Movement: Japanese quartz" = Fail.

    • Mind explaining why?

    • Most quartz movements are Japanese (e.g. Miyota OS20, Hattori). What's your problem?

      • +1

Doesn't matter where the quartz movement is made, they all essentially perform the same.

      • -8

I do have a problem with quartz movements, I think they are shit. but hey if you want to get it, go right ahead.

    • So for a $100 watch, you're expecting a Swiss Made?

      • -7

you can get a swiss made Tissot with automatic ETA movement on Ebay for about $150 delivered.

        • +1

Yeah sure you can. If you're happy with wearing a replica, go right ahead.

        • Link? Because I bet not.

        • @shopbot, I'm not sure how you jumped to the conclusion that it's a replica. Have you ever looked? It is even possible to get a vintage Omega for around $300 if you know where to look. There are plenty of watch forums on the net, why don't you check them out before making idiotic comments like this? I'm not a watch expert by all means but I do have a few good pieces in my collection including a couple of automatic Tissots.

P.S. It's fine that you don't believe me but if you enjoy getting ripped off which I think you don't given you are on this forum, go right ahead.

        • @blitz, try to look for Tissot Le Locle on Amazon or Ebay. They normally go for around $350 delivered but occasionally they do come up at the price point (pre-owned and brand new even) I mentioned and are definitely not replicas or fakes. You just need to find a seller with good feedbacks. Alternatively, google for watch forums if you are interested in watches, people trade watches on there all the time.

  • "Applies to delivery addresses in the 50 states of the United States only, including Alaska and Hawaii. APO/FPO addresses are eligible for Free Returns and Free Super Saver Shipping when using a United States zip code only. Additional geographic shipping restrictions may apply to particular products."

    Read the fine print.

  • It's funny because quartz movements are actually more accurate at time keeping than the automatic ones.

The thing about automatic movements ones is the engineering brilliance that goes into them.

P.S - Tissot Automatic for $150? GL with your yumcha copy.

    • That's exactly right, if you just want something that simply keeps accurate time, why not just use your phone? Why wear a watch at all? Besides just because mechanical watches are less accurate than digital watches does not mean they are not good enough for daily use.

Btw, there is no such thing as a Tissot Automatic, just a Tissot with automatic movement. Like everything else consumers get ripped off on everything in this country and people start to believe we should pay a ridiculous amount of money for a decent watch. I find it funny that on a forum like this I'm met so much hostility when I try to share information and help people from getting ripped off. I wonder how much those people who negged me really know about watches. It's been fun educating people here but I'm done. Good luck.

      • Educate people? Speaking from a guy that clams quartz is a fail and getting a Tissot automatic from eBay for $150. Really wonder who needs educating here…

        Enough said.

        • Whatever man, just go get your $100 Casio quartz watch if that makes you happy. When you grow up maybe you'll learn and buy a real watch.

        • You're a troll mate. Stop trying to defend yourself, its just embarrassing. Such a hypocrite this guy.

He talks about idiotic comments when he is the one when tried to trolled with one. Got all pissed off when everyone questions and neg him.
Talks about needing to educated people when he's the idiot that needs educating.
Talks about buying a real watch when he goes around buying 2nd's and fakes $100 branded watch on eBay.

Hypocrism at its fineness. You're comments are hugely neg for a reason you troll.

        • @shopbot, so far you have not added anything valuable to this argument and provided any evidence whatsoever to show that you know anything about watches. The more you talk the more it shows how little you know about watches. You are the one embarrassing yourself and you are the one who got all defensive because I said this Casio watch has a crappy quartz movement.

P.S There is nothing wrong with buying 2nd hand watches. I would much rather buy a good second hand vintage watch like an Omega than spending $100 on a brand new Casio digital watch with a quartz movement. You still have a lot of learning and growing up to do.

P.P.S This is coming from a guy with a $20,000 watch collection. Go play with your Casio and Gameboy kid, have fun.

        • The hypocrism continues. Seriously, ignorance all its best. Now talking about defensive.

Trolls don't deserve attention. Thats it.

        • You know what I meant: Tissot Automatic = Tissot that's Automatic :).

Give me an ETA on that.
