Best USB-A to USB-C Cable for Phone to Car Charging?

Is there a cable powerful enough to maintain phone battery level during a long roadtrip while streaming Bluetooth for example?

I got a UGreen usb-a/usb-c cable but after 8 hours it could only sustain about 40% left. Not really sure if there's anything better out there?

Anyone have any recommendations at what do should be looking at?

Thanks 👍

Most likely a limitation of the charging port. Your phone is using power faster than the port can charge it. If you have a cig socket you may find an adapter to convert to USB that charges faster.

    • Right, so would you say if I didn't use the phone, but left it idle, it would begin to charge it rather than have a slow decline in power?

      • Should do though may depend on what apps you have that run in the background etc but it's likely your port is only charging at 1 amp or less.

        • If it's ye old USB port to the radio or something it'll be 500mA

That has nothing to do with the cable but the charger itself. Get something with higher rated amps.

Anker 2.4 amp car cig charger keeps iPhone topped up 100% even with screen on full brightness with Waze running and Spotify streaming over Bluetooth.

  • Is it an older car? FG falcon can’t charge and play an iPod classic

  • Agree with above. It's the charger, not the cable. In my car I need to use a charger in the cigarette lighter. The usb A port in the car is very low power.

  • Ah I see, so an cig charger adaptor is what I need then. What amp/watt is sufficient? I see a variety in power and prices.

It's for an older pixel android, on a modern peugeot hatchback if that helps

  • I prefer the Baseus capables, very good quality IMO

ANYWAY I still dont know any cable that can your car from your phone, above is true for charging phone from Car
