Transport a Scooter from Hobart to Perth, What Company to Choose, How Much?

Hi there, I've had a few quotes from online, ranging from $1.5k-$3k

Scooter model is Yamaha MW125.

Is there a cheaper way to transport my beloved vehicle?

Thanks.

Best to sell in Hobart and buy comparable model in Perth.

I put it on gumtree for a year, $1500 under market value but no one wants to buy it.

I would like to pay $1500 more and use it myself.

melbourne and drive it to perth

That would be a hell of a trip on such a scooter :)
Good pub story material though (assuming you made it)

      • I wonder how many times you’d be almost blown off by an overtaking semi trailer doing 20-30km/h faster than you max speed?

  • Yeah, buy it closer to your new home. On a scooter of that size, you cannot be saving that much on shipping it 5,000km away…

You don’t have any relatives that can hold it for you while you are trying to sell it? Maybe take it to a local motorcycle shop and just wholesale it to them. You won’t get much for it, but it would be cheaper than the $1,500 it’s going to take to get it moved.

I wanted to buy a bike in Hobart last week and it was going to cost me $800 to get it to NSW on a courier I use all the time and as a back load. Worked out cheaper to just buy the bike brand new from a dealer up here.

Park it at your local gym with a for sale sign on it….

    • *inside your local gym

  • Strap it to a pallet and look for transport that way.

  • Long shot, but try airtasker.

Might find someone who is shipping household stuff to Perth from Hobart who might subcontract some space to ship yours.

Or maybe someone who is travelling with trailer etc and might want some extra cash.
