400

Hi everyone, first post so please let me know if anything is wrong.
Saw the wireless modmic from Antlion on sale for $159 @ JB, usually $179 at places like mwave, pccg, amazon etc. Haven't seen this go on 'sale' in a long while.
Cheers

I paid $179 and it arrived on wednesday.
Great option to use with vr headsets.

How long does the battery last?

      • +2

        12 hours.

That's a really good idea, could see that working well on my Oculus Rift CV1

      • I asked a lot of people who are VR content creators full time and this was the overwhelming recommendation.

      • That has a mic built in, does it not?

        • Yes, but the quality is very average.

          • @futaris: Mic is best in class for what it provides

  • +1

Really good mic but the short battery life lets this down bigtime, multiple times it's died as it only last's 12 hours.

      "Only 12 hours"
If you need to use the mic continuously for more than 12 hours, you should probably be using something wired lol

      • +1

But that just adds more cables, this thing is almost perfect for those who want to use headphones without a mic.
Hope they update it with type c and longer battery life one day

What other wireless mics have more than 12 hours battery?

          • @magic8ballgag: Feel free to post if you know of any.

            • +9

@Axelstrife: I don't know of any, but I also don't expect that type of battery life from a wireless mic.

              • @magic8ballgag: The mod mic wireless is the first of it's kind, nothing wrong with wanting an upgraded version.

    • Agreed, mine lasts less than 12 and my only wish for future versions would be a better battery. I use it for work sometimes and it doesn’t last a full work day if I have back to back meetings.

I want one but they're overpriced.

    • +1

      Non-replaceable battery too :/

  • +1

    Great for qc35 and xm4

  • Do they work while charging with USB?

    • +2

Yes they do, basically operates like their wired version.

  • +1

Does this pair with your Bluetooth headphones to supply audio? I.e. can you then use this with the XM4 for PS5 audio out and mic with the USB?

    • +1

I want to know this as well, as most built-in mics are subpar. One of the reviews on Amazon says that there are issues with this setup.

      • No

    • No

      • Thx. Why not use the V-moda boom pro to do both jobs? If your headphones have a detachable cable.

I think this is the same one that JayzTwoCents just posted a video about:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yk9aEfEzzJk

  • my gaming headset died recently (old plantronics 780)
had a dt 770 being unused, and all the advice online said that gaming headsets were silly, and that I should get this and use proper headphones
I can barely tell the difference, and the mic cost more than the headset. i'm probably just an audiophile pleb

however, I really like the microphone. it's well made and works well. the magnet connection feels quality.
audio quality / voice is way better than the gaming headset.

if you want a mic, this is really good.

battery needs charging once a fortnight or so.
was going to post that my main gripe with it is that the mic needs charging frequently, then i realised that it's actually not frequently…
so I guess it does everything it's supposed to perfectly!
