Whole House Water Filter System WH2200 Is Any Good?

I'm planning to install a basic Whole House water filter system. Seems like there are plenty of options out there but not sure which is good. I selected Something like this:

https://www.puretec.com.au/WH2200

Keen to know has anyone used this or installed this system and would love to hear the feedback of this brand. Also how much did you spend for the first time purchase? How long does it last? And how much is the replacement cartridge cost.

  • That just looks like a standard filter commonly used for water supply. There’s much more advanced ones with multiple stages. You should probably start with why you need one. What are you trying to filter out etc.

      +1. Why?

Most water in Aus is pretty good and what’s the point of filtering toilet flush or washing machine water?

      • Chloramines, sodium fluorosilcate, heavy metals from the pipes to the home etc.

Personally I'd just put in a tank and have it plumbed to the house (if possible).

    • I have a extreme hairfall and dry skin. Thought that the filtering the chemicals like chlorine , sodium etc may reduce my dry skin.

      • from what I have seen its quite common in Mellbourne because of the dry weather. I face the same issue and so do many people I know.

Did you end up buying one ? if yes, did it help in fixing your fair fall and dry skin problem ?

Sediment is what you want to get for whole house. Prolongs flickmix and washers cystern etc.
$50 for hardware plus plumbers cost. Change filter every 6 months.
Spend the rest filtering your drinking water.

  • I am using this for dry skin for last 2 months didnt find much improvement for dry skin but can say chlorie smell in water is reduced.
    Shower water filter
