    If you are going to wear a mask wear a P2/N95

    This is coming from someone who switched to a surgical mask for just one day and that one decision lead me to get COVID-19. I've been COVID-19 free for the entire pandemic, until this one decision.

      Some people wore cheap or no masks and never got covid others got expensive masks and got covid and vice versa.

      I do believe though everyone should keep a zombie gas mask in hand just in case

        I completely agree with the point your trying to make.

        There are so many factors that determine whether or not a person will get COVID. These can include: genetics, shape of the person's face (for fit-check purposes), type of environments the person travel to, medical history and so many more factors.

        Also, it's not about how expensive the mask is. It's about how form fitting the mask is. To check this inhale and exhale. If you can feel air going in or out around the mask try a different mask. This won't guarantee anything, as a proper fit check requires expensive equipment, but it is a start.

        Surgical masks are not form fitting on any person. There are specific circumstances where a surgical mask for COVID-19 mitigation are appropriate, but only someone who has a medical background or someone who has done extensive research on COVID-19 will know what those circumstances are.

        In my opinion, we have reached a point in the pandemic where if you are going to go through the trouble of wearing a mask to try to reduce your chances of getting COVID-19 you are better off wearing a P2/N95.

      It's less likely an N95 would have helped you. Masks have a much larger impact on you spreading covid than catching it. When you walk through a cloud of covid, you get it on your body, and in your eyes.

      If the person next to you with a mask sneezes, then you get a much smaller cloud, and likely not get it at all.

    Many masks are with cheap plastic nose clip which will not stay in shape. This increases gaps between face and mask so i would suggest to stay away unless it clearly says metal nose clip.
