I bought this 2 months ago and don’t regret it. Easy to clean, easy to use. Cooking chips perfectly is a bit of a learning curve though.

    • What's the learning curve? Stick the food in a vs press the timer and temperature? What more is there to do?

      • Figuring out the time, temperature, amount of chips to put in, amount of oil to put in, size of chips to cut, etc. Figuring out how to get them crispy without burning them or making them soggy. It's not as easy as it sounds.

        • the trick with chips is your chop em, put more oil than you think in, cook them for 10 mins, toss em, cook em 10 mins and toss em, then when they're crispy pop em in a bowl with seasoning toss em, and pop em back in for like 2 mins!

  • The square basket is vastly superior to round ones.

  • Better or same as phillips?

    • I'm wondering the same thing we have the OG Philips but is almost too small since we are a family of 4 now.

I have looked at the Philips xxl but this is half the price.

      • I think I will buy one… I've also got an instant pot which is reliable… I also have an og philips but for this price I think this is way better

  • What is the basket like? Mesh?

  • I saw a review saying it was $139 when he bought it on sale. True??

    • 2 weeks ago target have promotion spend $100 and get 4000 flybuys point (equal $20), i bought one

      • Was it on sale for $139 plus 4000 flybuys points??

        • no, it was $169 plus 4000 flybuys point

  • I also bought this last time it was on sale and can say it's been a good unit - I quite like the design of the basket which is quite wide as opposed to tall so you can get a lot in there.

My only criticism is that because the whole draw lifts out rather than just a basket so you need to pick items out with a set of tongs rather than tip things out… the upside to this is that you get a lot more usable space… i've done 1.5kg of pork belly with room to spare
