Looking for a New Laptop. Is This a Good Deal? Infinity Gaming Laptop W5 32GB 1TB

Searching for a new laptop and found this on my internet travels.

Is this a good deal? I have no experience with 'Harris Technology' or know whether their eBay page is legit.

I'm absolutely open to other suggestions. I'd like to get back into pc gaming and I'm considering taking up some further study in future. I need a new laptop, but I'm a bit new to this space. Ideally I'd be spending no more than $3500, and I have no real brand preferences.

I'd appreciate any help.

  • use "SAVEMAY"

15" at 2560x1440 might be a bit of an overkill
    Love the RAM

If you'll never own a desktop, maybe look into other brands as well like Lenovo Legion or ASUS Rog laptops (others may have better suggestions). But you'll likely have a far greater performance/price ratio with a full PC for $3k and a decent used laptop/cheap chromebook for portable usage if you can put in the extra time - something to consider. Especially since bringing a gaming laptop to uni is a bit awkward in multiple ways if you plan on studying again.

    • Add to the above advice, gaming laptop is very heavy so you should get a smaller laptop for further study instead and invest in a gaming PC with that budget. I have brought mine to work one day for a meeting/presentation and I had to use a bag with the wheels as it was too heavy on my shoulder. If you still want a gaming laptop and depend on your needs for gaming performance, there are cheaper ones to shop around but offer similar specs or performance. Mine is a DELL G17 17 inch and it has served me well for over a year and should be under 2k in today market

  • Harris Technology is a legit company. They've been around forever.

Same laptop (with rtx 3070), different name.

Personally I think this is a really good laptop. It's basically got everything you could want - performance, decent battery, not too heavy (for a gaming laptop), mux switch, good display, lots of ports, lots of software control. I would get this if I didn't already order a Legion 5i 3070ti from a previous promotion.

Just have a look at what other rtx3080 laptops are going for to get an idea if it's worth it, but keep in mind not all 3080 laptops are the same - you want to check the TGP and thermals.

Only thing to consider (if you care about it) is potentially lower resale value because it is not an established brand.
