Cheap Flight Tips

Hey guys, looking at flying to europe in June. Specifically June 16th after 3pm and was wondering if you had any tips for finding cheap flights.

I want to fly into Barcelona on June 16th before 9pm as I'm going to a music festival at 9.30pm haha! I have a tonne of qantas points but there's no reward flights on offer anymore sadly.

I've found a half decent flight on sky scanner - $1230 one way with malaysia airlines. However i can only get this deal through those rogue 3rd party sites like Flight Network. What is your experience with those? Is it possible to price match with a well known agency in Australia like flight centre? I dont want to fly scoot as the flights aren't connecting.

Any advice appreciated thanks so much ozb'rs!!

Bold move to assume your flight will be on time. I'd suggest arriving the day before.

    • Yeh fully aware, it's ok if we missed the first night of the festival

      • Maybe fly to asia on a return positioning flight, then use oneworld points onto spain.

  • Sounds like you own a CC that earnt you Qantas points,

Whatever you do be sure to pay for flight with your CC, for any insurance like accidental flight cancellation etc.

  • google flights. scotts cheap flights has a guide on how to use it. scoot is pretty cheap to athens and berlin. i think they also fly from bangkok to london.

  • Yes use Google Flights BUT: Open a new incognito window (if using Chrome) and do not put a destination, just a date of travel. Then select your destination from the offers. Usually it's cheaper than searching for a specific destination….
