Phone Plan That Is > 40 GB a Month?

Hi..
I usually use 30+ gb data monthly. Currently with felix (vodafone) paying $35 for unlimited data with 20mbps speed limit.

Reception is not too bad until I drive on a freeway or go out of town on a roadtrip.

I am happy with it but am I paying too much considering it is Vodafone service with limited speed? Are there better deals out there with at least 40gb monthly data? I would mind paying a bit more for a Telstra reseller.

You can get 40Gb from Belong for $35. They have the best coverage of the Telstra resellers.

    • Thank you. Will look into it :)

I may have confused Belong with Boost. šŸ˜ Boost use the full Telstra network. Cost $50 for 40Gb+ though.

        • Yes, it seems you have.

Boost might be a littlre more expensive than other resellers, but you also get a much better network (no 5G, though).

    • Use the online mobile plan comparison sites
Plenty to choose from at various prices

Depends how fussy you are with coverage though

Best plans are usually the JB Telstra deals, $59/69 a month offset by a big ol' giftcard, 100GB of data. Although it's generally more useful if you're in the market for a new phone.

Otherwise if you shop at Woolworths, 42GB a month and a 10% discount on one shop for $35. However it's not the full telstra network, I'm on this and find it's nothing like when I was on Boost. There's also data banking for those months you use less data.

Numobile might be a good choice because they use the full 4GB network like Boost but are a little bit cheaper. I've never used them though, no idea what support is like.

    • Yeah I miss the Jb Hifi deals. Was on them for the best part of the past few years. I have actually been waiting for too long for a good deal to be back but looks like those days are over! Will look into the other suggestions. Cheers

Yeah I don't understand how people use so much mobile data unless they don't have NBN.

I don't use work wifi, mainly because I'm too busy working…

I didnā€™t get the joke and Iā€™m not going to google it but it is mainly live sports when I am not home and a bit of youtube that chews up my data.

Lots of people will view 4k videos on phones not even realising 720p will look just fine and leave it on auto :/

      • Not everyone still uses an iphone 6s! Iā€™d rather pay $10 or $15 more a month and enjoy the features of my phone!

When you can't tell the difference between 1080 and 4k on streaming media on a phone, doing it because you can is peak consumerism.

@Mechz: No not 4k. I watch in 1080p. I can tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on my iphone 13 pro.

You have a phone with a 4k screen? Sony Xperia?

If not, you're wasting your data on 4k.

I get 40gb a month with Optus for $39. Great coverage and great speed. If you go over they throttle you down. Itā€™s advertised for $49 but if you ask for $39 they will oblige for a year and advise you to ask again in a yearā€™s time. Post paid account month to month.
