Great price for a 256GB MicroSD Card. I'll be using it in my camera as my laptop only has a microsd reader.

If compared that to cost per Mb then you would be looking at around $100,000 for the 256GB LMAO.

      From that 2013 article:

256GB SD cards cost a hefty $700 these days, but in another 9 years, we’ll almost certainly be poking fun at that price tag as well.

      …. and on cue, yep!!

      • I remember looking into 256GB SD cards back in 2012. I used to think to myself, "HA! Why would anyone ever use a card this big? Imagine how much you lose if it gets corrupted".

        • Basically a day's worth of 4k twitch stream data these days

It really is insane how much data blows through servers with just a stream

My first flash drive was 32mb. It was huge, everyone else at school was using 16mb or floppy disks.

      • +2

I remember compressing my mp3s so I could fit a few in it!

      • I have a 32MB CF card in my camera bag and a couple of 512MB ones too

Very handy for those that bought the 64GB Samsung Tablet on recent Optus deal

    • Still waiting for backorder :-)

      • Mine was delivered last Friday

    • Good idea. I knew I wanted 2. One for Switch, one for Optus tablet.

  • could you use this for a Rasberry Pi?

    • Depends what type of Pi you have.

Better off using a smaller card for a Pi then grabbing external USB storage for other things.

    • Ive used a few of these for my different projects. Have also used a 400gb and 512gb as well both sandisk.

    • For occasional use (i.e. not 24/7) definitely, it will be fine.

For something that's supposed to be powered on all year long, I'd go with a SanDisk Extreme instead.

    Another card for the pile.

  • Is there a risk that these are fakes?

Anyone got any links/sales they know about for 4k and 5.4k rated micro SD cards ATM?? Pretty sure this one is really only good for 1080p and below. (Using in Dji Air 2s)

    • Thanks good point, I want one Mini 2 compatible.

  • +2

Would this be quick enough to keep up with a smartphone camera (ie recording in 4K, large pic files sizes etc)

    • +1

No, this only does up to 1080P.

Furthermore, a Class 10 card can be slow to read.

  • Thanks, bought one for my security camera.

  • Considering this one for my dash cam, wondering if it's above Class 10?

Q3. What memory card does Dash cam support?

Dash cam supports microSD cards with the capacity of 16GB~128GB and a read/write speed of Class 10 and above. Some microSD cards with other capacities and lower levels > may also be used, but we do not guarantee the effective recording. Low-level SD cards may cause slow writing and video recording errors.

Do I need it? No. Bought anyway

How long would this last in a 4k DJI mini 2?

  • Wonder which one would be better for my Blackvue dr900x?
This or the Samsung 256gb Evo plus… Thoughts anyone?

  • my laptop only has a microsd reader

To confirm, your laptop can read from it but can't write?

    • +1

Yes it can write to microsd cards as well. 😀 Just doesn't support regular SD cards which my camera needs.

      • Sorry, I'm confused. This is a microSD card, your laptop has a read / write microSD slot, but you can't use it in the laptop?

        • +2

He can read/write to microSD on his laptop. He can't read/write SD (the bigger one) on his laptop.

  • Can this be used as a ps5 external hard drive?

    • +1

Theoretically, yes by using a USB adapter. But, why tho'?

      • I don’t think it’s compatible for it to be used as game storage, only ssd are fast enough

  • About to buy a new GoPro. I think it would be a wiser choice if I got a 128GB MicroSD at a higher speed. Maybe the Sandisk Extreme Pro.

Does anyone have experience with the Sandisk Ultra on a GoPro?

  • Will there be a significant performance jump with the SanDisk Extreme A2 model ($56)?

Or, is Ultra better bang for buck here?

    Usage: Mainly for dashcam recording.

I bought a 256GB Sandisc Max Endurance card for my dashcam. It is supposed to be able to rewrite 20 000 times or something ridiculous like that. So if you want something that is capable of working in excessive heat - cars get very hot when sitting in the sun during summer - and recording 4k for endless hours of footage I would recommend an Endurance card for a dashcam.

missed out, price back to $40.90
