Australia Post Late Delivery

Hey Guys, 👋 I am having a trouble with Australia Post.

I am expecting a parcel (7kg Box) which was supposed to be delivered on 30th March but its been one month, the item hasn't moved since. It says waiting to be processed for delivery. I have contacted Australia Post a few times but they are absolute rubbish as couldn't able to give a satisfying answer.

Has anybody have the same issues? Or any suggestion will be appreciated.

Contact the sender and ask them to chase OZ post. If they do nothing then put a dispute into who you bought it from as it has not been delivered.

    • Sender is my friend. I have tried to lodge a query but no concrete response 😭 which is frustrating. Parcel worth of $500 I didn't know this could be happened.

As you are not the sender they will ignore the request or give you their standard response….. and do nothing more.

Looks like you have not been reading the posts over the last year about OZ post issues and delays. I have had parcels sent from Melb to Sydney and one parcel did the drip up then back then up then back and then up and waited a week 5K's away and then got delivered and OZ post still had it 5K away for the next 24 hrs.

It doesnt matter what relation you have to the sender, what matters is who paid for the shipping, if they paid for it, they are the auspost customer, hence they need to contact auspost and chase it up for you.

Where is the parcel being sent from/to…

    • My friend is posting the parcel from Melbourne to Tasmania.

      • +2

        That doesn't seem impossible.

Tasmania is getting closer to the Mainland with continental drift etc.

Yeah, have your friend go to an Auspost Post office and fill out some paperwork.

It says waiting to be processed for delivery.

That usually means they haven't picked it up.

    • For how long you are expecting?

Presumably it has a tracking number? Waiting to be processed suggests it has not been scanned in/ received by Au post. Did your friend post it at the post office? Was it sent express post, registered post or parcel post with tracking?

Generally the tracking info says: Shipping info received by Au post -> info approved by Au post -> Received and ready for processing ->Item processed at at facility [location] -> in transit to next facility in [location] -> …. -> onboard for delivery -> delivered.

If you google AU post tracking and enter the tracking number, there is an option "I haven't received this item". There is also a number to call. There should also be some info as to expected delivery dates based on method of post used.

        • It was posted at the post office with the parcel post and tracking number.

          • @Sunny14: According to Auspost, should only take 6-9 business days (from Vic to Tas): https://auspost.com.au/service-updates/domestic-delivery-tim… .

Way over the due date: https://auspost.com.au/service-updates/domestic-delivery-tim… (please wait until 15 business days after the expected delivery date before making a late item enquiry. You can get the expected delivery date by tracking your parcel using the AusPost app or our online tracking tool.)

I would give Auspost a call:
            Call us
Get in touch from Monday to Friday, except national public holidays.
            In Australia
            8am–6pm (local time)

Edit: sorry, just remembered you did call them. Only thing I can think of, sorry.

            • @Transient: Hmmmm. I have called them yesterday didn't come with an answer but said still working on case I don't know how long it will take.

              • @Sunny14: I called them about a month ago regarding a lost express post letter. They said it would take about 3-5 business days before getting back to me. I called the recipient and they said they had it so it had not been scanned in when it was delivered - still showed as stuck in the final facility.

Give them a couple of days to work on it and call them again if you haven't heard.

                Hope they find it!

This happened to me, parcel was meant to come X day but never arrived, after 2 weeks the app reminded me the parcel is delayed and to submit a parcel review request - submitted and nothing happened for 2 weeks, called and was told “hmm does not look right let me log a review” waited 10 business days - nothing from Auspost, now at like day 40. Called David Jones and got a refund in 2 days as parcel deemed lost in transit. I assume this may be what happened to your parcel. It sucks!

I have a parcel sent from Sydney to Perth In early March.
had an email to say it was on its way then nothing.

    Pretty sure it's gone MIA.

    • Did you enquire about it? What was the response by Australia post?

      • Seller didn't bother and just refunded
        It was only $20 worth

I had a parcel that was listed and undeliveriable then stuck in transit. Lodged the enquiry and never got a response. Ended up being lucky and getting a call from the lpo before they sent it back. Had been sitting at the closest lpo for 3 weeks

  • Sent a parcel mid April within Melbourne area, and still hadn’t arrived last week. Lodged a parcel request on Friday, and magically it was delivered today

  • I sent a parcel on the 14/4 a few suburbs from I live express post tracking said it was delayed 20 of April lodged a complaint last week will have to wait and see what happens. Aussie post great when it works!!

  • Why don't you ask your friend for a tracking number and why didn't you request to have it sent Express or Platinum Express even use a courier service???
