Best Value SIM Card for Arrivals into Australia?

I have relatives arriving into Brisbane from NZ next week. They are only visiting for a week but would like to be able to use their phones while they're here. Can anyone recommend the best (cheapest) SIM card to get (maybe from the airport when they arrive?). They will just be using it to make phone calls within Australia and to NZ, sending text messages and using a little data for Facebook. Thanks for your help.

Order a couple of $2.90 Kogan sims today and you'll have them for when your relatives arrive (or they can use esim if their handsets support that):
    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-sim-prepaid-starte…

If they don't arrive in time you can grab a couple of blank sims from 7-11 https://www.koganmobile.com.au/where-to-buy-kogan-mobile-sim….

Can they use Whatsapp/messenger/facetime for calls back to NZ? Otherwise bolt on international call pack here: https://www.koganmobile.com.au/plans/mobile/international-ca…

    • Can they activate sims without a local ID?

I'm not sure. I've only activated using Australian ID.

Another option is Optus flex, esim on 4g is free for a week - includes 7gb data, and $1 extra for 300 minutes to NZ - https://www.optus.com.au/prepaid/plans/flex

Else go on the daily plan for $1 a day with 1gb a day (this is $1.50 a day for the 300 mins to NZ)

Just activate it for them yourself.

No one here can tell what type of plan they need (how much data? International calls? what type of phone? etc).
Best if you just start here and input what you want

Cheapest SIMs are $2 from Coles and Woolies. This does not include data or calls as you then need to charge the SIM for use.

Amaysim has a $10-for-7 days prepaid plan, pick up a $2 SIM at a Coles or Woolies on the way out of the airport. Also allows for calls back to NZ and other countries plus 10GB of data
