  • Are we ever going to see a sick price on the classic white/blue 624's? Feel like it's been floating around high 90's/ low 100's for ages.

Just need a jean sale to go along with it

      • +12

I got the jeans, beer belly, love for bbq, and kids already

        • Find a pair of New Balance 550s and be a real cool dad.

          • +1

@Munki: im not sure if ive hit peak 'dad' but i actually thought the 550s in red/white actually look great

            • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: The 550s is going to be the new Stan Smiths. Get in before it gets hyped.

              • @Munki: restock for some 550's coming tomorrow at 10am, I wonder if i should try and get a pair or ultimately be disappointed at this f'd industry overrun with scalpers/bots.

                • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I feel like the 550s are way too similar to the Adidas Forum lows though. I'm not paying more for some hype. Rather go with the Forums.

        • Where's the wifey :D

      • And a jean short sale

    • +1

I buy them even when there isn't a sale. Such great shoes. I say that as a father :P

  • Thanks OP other great prices in their ebay store. Picked up a pair. Needed that!

  • Thanks OP! great casual shoes

  • Any idea how New Balance sizing normally compares to Adidas?

    • +4

Hope this helps. I usually wear an Adidas US11 and a New Balance US11.

You could always try some on in store if you have time.

  • It's only certain sizes btw.

    • well the sale has been going on for literally weeks, id say they keep chunking away at the price until all the old stock is cleared.

      • Did they drop prices? It all looks more expensive than before.

Just that there's a code now

  • These any good for us team fat feet people?

    • +1

The 2E in some new balance shoes are very wide… some arent. :(

I've stuck with the 690's due to this fact, but suffer from holes in the top of the shoe where big toe is in the V6 - mate has the V7's with no issue

    Oos

    • Tho the red one is still in stock

  • Would anyone recommend for jogging (5 to 10km) and light trail walks?

    • are you trail running or street running? Do you want a 'fast' shoe or a cushioned shoe? Do you run much or only now and then? Do you have any injuries or gait issues? Will it be more often trail walking or running? Are you prepared to buy two shoes?

      • Are you prepared to buy two shoes?

No only 1… go barefoot with the other..

        • hopping is the new spinning

      • Usually street. Cushioned/comfort over speed. Like twice a week and then bike every other day. No injuires (touch wood). Probably running. No, i cheap, thats why I am on ozbargain XD

        • +1

The NB shoe for running is the More V3 or the 1180. I also recommend looking at Hoka shoes, especially the Bondi or the Clifton. the Brooks Ghost is also worth a look

However, none of the above are great for trails as they have a high stack (thick sole) and hence are a bit unbalanced on unstable grounds. Therefore you might want to have a look at the NB Hierro or, in the Hoka range the speedgoat. These are primarily trail running shoes but can also be used for road running so are a good compromise. It wont affect you too much as you arent after speed.

The Hierro is probably the best choice overall for what you want

If you havent used any of these 'new age' cushioned shoes before, they are a completely different feel to the old style runners but are amazingly comfortable.

None of these will be great for cycling, a cushioned sole sucks for riding.

also I havent looked at prices, most of the recommended shoes are RRP $200+

          • @dtc: Thanks for the reply friend.
I've been using the same pair of Nike shoes for 8 years and the soles literally fell off recently. Been hesitant to get new ones for awhile, lots of memories I guess.
Looking at this deal, they don't have my size anyway. Oh well.

  • I prefer the Solvis

  • Ty op.
