3rd Party Insurance (Variable Excess)

Hi all

Do you know of any insurers who have variable excess on 3rd party policies?

I'm looking to set up a 3rd party insurance policy on my car.

I'd like adjust the excess to the maximum so it lowers the monthly premium fee.

Although I've noticed a couple of insurers only have variable excess on their comprehensive policy.

I think NRMA used to do this, it's been a while since I checked.

Is third party expensive enough to merit increasing excess for slightly lower premiums? With inflation skyrocketing and car demand going bananas, I fear this year's renewal will be a shocker.

    • I can't get an online quote because VIC is not selectable. Weird..

The Vic side of things is done under the RACV brand (they merged in 1999).

  • Pretty much everyone these days does this.

Coles, Woolworths, Virigin Etc all give an option to vary your excess

    • Cool I'll try them out, so far only tried ammi, budget direct etc
