Next day delivery for me. I'm in Sydney.

Live somewhere they deliver on Saturdays?

  • How does a French press go with making iced lattes? Partner wants iced lattes but we don't have a coffee machine. Anyone have a French press method.

Highlighting your first sentence and do a search brings up some interesting results

    • Get one of those Japanese cold brew jugs. Much better if you want iced coffee

    • It’s okay but I’ll prefer real espesso as coffee from Fench Press tends to be more watery. I’ll recommend enjoying single origin coffee with light/medium roast if you want to enjoy manual brew by using this french press.

    • I use a stove top maker to make the base for an iced latter then use a 500ml plunger to froth the cold milk for it.

The milk ends up creamy and silky like a real latte except it’s cold.

I’m sure you could use the plunger to do the coffee base. You would just need to make it strong by using less water and steeping it for about 4 min.

    • Its very watery for ice latte.

  • This would essentially be the same as an Aeropress, wouldn’t it?

    • Similar… not exactly the same

    • +2

No, this produces something closer to filter coffee. An aero press is closer to an espresso machine.

      • Aeropress is not really anything like espresso. The pressure is way lower. Is more a filtered immersion brew. The type of coffee you get out is actually closer to French press than espresso.

Adding Belselkel’s words, you’ll need medium to coarse grind size for French Press while fine grind size for Aeropeess. It’s okay to use fine size for French press, the coffee ground will come out from the edge when you press it.

500mL is also $17. Less of a discount but I think a better size for my needs!

    • Same here!

I used to have 1 serve version of this plunger and it is not durable.

I bought it like 3 times and all 3 times the bit where the mesh plate connects to the plunger stick broke up. That joint is made of plastic.

Now I use the metal version of Bodum and it's been good so far

kenya press only available in black?

      RACIST

      • what?

I want a more colourful one. i want a white one, so it matches my bodum travel mug. the black ones are so boring.

        • I was just having a hugh g reaction

Great price, but you get what you pay for. This thing is absolute rubbish. Mine broke within two weeks and similar stories with my sister and folks. Save your money for something better.

    • What else would I get? What broke? I thought Bodum was supposed to be really reputable.

I have been wanting a French press for ages, just never got around to getting one. I see Amazon sell the Bodum Chambord French press as well, possibly better?

      • +2

My plunger broke, without using excessive force. The filter is very weak, does not create a good enough seal nor does it retain heat as effectively as more reputable models/brands. I didn’t even bother with warranty. I paid $20 for mine, and if you ask me that is $20 too much. I have decided to bite the bullet and spend $129 this time around on a Hario coffee press. Day and night the difference in taste between the two. Yes it is x6 the price, but at least I am satisfied with my morning cup of Joe.

    • replaced under warranty?

      • Straight to landfill unfortunately.

Don't buy this one. It's useless. I've had a smaller metal Bodum plunger for years and it does a better job. Whereas this one's flimsy, plastic, the mesh lets through way too much of the grounds, and it's a pain to clean. You really do get what you pay for!

  • I have a similar ite. I use for tea. Its so aweso.e!
