  Not sure how they do it now, but when I worked there years ago, they'd get delivered frozen in bulk and someone had to pack them in little hot cake trays the night before so when it came to crunch time they'd be thawed and you could just throw them in the microwave and serve them up.
  This takes up heaps of bench space so it would spread into the floor. Then the trays would be stacked on top of each other without lids to create a buffer between top of the hot cake and bottom of the next tray. 15yo me never thought into it and even ate them every now and then.
  You can't even pay me to eat hot cakes now

  Even the colesworth premade pancakes taste better than maccas hotcakes. I'd only eat those if I was still so drunk at 6am that being in a kitchen was too dangerous to consider.

  Lots of maccas hotcake hate going on here lol
  Just tried to redeem offer and of course my local maccas is ‘closed’ only on Deliveroo app. Same store open on Uber eats and mymaccas app, great offer when you can’t even use it! Grinds my gears…
