IKEA for that budget. Pop into a store, test out the perfect one for you (spring/foam and hardness) then get a nice lush mattress topper which makes ALL the difference.

Always sleep better when you manage to get a $2000 mattress for $900.

Wadia gadda veer. Worth paying the asking price for the quality. you wont be disappointed.

        • Thanks 22 ji which one did you buy ..any recommendations for a queen one ?

          • @Sunnyoz: If I was you, I would just go in the store and see which one you like. The clearance stock is also really good. As long as you are happy with the price, you should go instore and just check out which one you like.
Another option for you would be costco for similar priced mattresses.

When I was younger, and povo, I bought a reconditioned mattress from St Vinnies, they professionally clean them, redo them and other stuff, an affordable but quality option if needed. Now that I'm living large, I sleep on a pile of money.

  • Apart from Ikea, a mattress in a box might be in your price range, Noa or even Koala (with a discount) would work and have return policies if you don't like the feel of them

On a side note, most mattress returns are donated to charities so I'm wondering if it's possible to buy one that way and steam clean yourself

I got a zzz atelier queen for $295 off ebay last week. Arrived in two days. It was just a spare bed for visitors so didn't want to spend a ton. I slept on it last night and was pleasantly surprised. The edges are a bit softer than I'm used to (not sure if that affects all mattress in a box companies) but otherwise it was a great sleep. Especially for the price.

    • I second zzz atelier. My back pain vanished after using it. I have been using it for 1.5 years and so far no issues. Out of two units that I have the earlier one has subpar edge support but the second unit is much better; both are very comfy.

      • Thanks mate will that’s be good enough for 2 people though ? Say about 50 & 65 kgs ?

I’d say the second unit I received is definitely good enough for two people with ample support (the first unit has noticeable lack of edge support; though this feedback is from someone weighing 1.7x than you). For under $300 I think it could be worth the gamble, especially if you have the option to use it as a spare mattress in case you don’t like it.

@OldSchoolHarry: zzz is good for a guest bedroom but I wouldnt use it for personal regular use. I find the rollup boxed mattresses to be of significant inferior quality for poor springs vs standard mattresses. I got zzz first but ended up selling it as I started getting back and neck pain. That is my personal experience.

    • Ours and many other ZZZ Atelier buyers had the mattresses sag really badly within 3 years. Hope it doesn't happen with yours and the others here that have purchased. I suppose it's cheap for a reason. YMMV.

The good thing about medium mattresses is they can tell your fortune while you sleep.
