For those that can't stand 2 year contracts and uses heavy phone plans. This is a good deal imo. You get a plus

the plan is on 12 months contract not 2 years.
and after starthere/buckscoop cashback and "25credit" coupon code, the value becomes even better.

$829 if you don't have any account. Still, its a decent deal for unlimited texts, unlimited calls to vodafone/3, 1.5gb internet and $750 credit.

  • i have wanted to know for a while. what is an "existing account", if i get a $2 sim pack at coles and activate it. Am i eligible for the 10% off?

    • No,existing account mean people like me who has already suffered nearly a whole year of Vodafone' s poor reception. But still a good one,for the phone I may sign a new one year contract. But I have a company iPhone 4s with Telstra, pass. When my sgs2 contract expired in August, I will use amasim prepay.

oh, you people deserve more than 10% off!

  • I have a contract that is ending start of next month..can I get an upgrade to this package or do I have to buy another one and cant port my number?

  • Is a prepaid account considered to be a existing account and where can I find information about this deal? I cannot see this on their website…

    • +2

      NO. Only postpay.

  • I went into Voda store and asked them today does the 10% off apply to 12mths contract and they told me only apply to 24mths contract only.

    • the vodafone staff are woefully misinformed about online deals most times.

      • yes indeed, better contact them via their twitter or fb.

Would opt for the Kogan /Live Connected due to Optus network - you may only be on Voda for 12 months but it will get on your nerves soon enough

    • +2

Depends where you live. Just because you have problems doesn't mean everyone else will. Voda have a guarantee anyway so that's no reason.

      • I got okay reception, nothing that I would be able to reneg a contract on; however a friend on optus in the same are gets far superior speeds ; all's i am saying is its worth checking speedtests on whirlpool or xda

Pretty decent deal that i can actually kinda support. I see OP has done his maths. Good job.

  • How does this compare to $49 cap 24 months with $0 repayment?

    • Its $59 12 months with $15 repayment.

  • +1

I know everyone always says it, but don't forget potential $100 cashback for validated transactions via moneybackco or buckscoop

    • its as good as useless. never works

My friend got a nice deal from Vodafone it's $49 + $10 (for Handset) for 12 Months + Beats headset free, he was with 3 before and switched to Vodafone now.

    • just got the same deal, with 3 months of my contract waived.

    • Yep, just called and got the same. 1 months contract waived. comes to 708$ with 1GB data. not bad I would say.

Hi I contacted vodaphone and they would not offer me this deal after I mentioned a friend got this deal. They requested a friends phone number and 4 digit sales reference as proof. Can anyone help me out?

      • let me get my phone first and I'l give you the details. :)

    • How did you guys get that deal? I'll call Vodafone tomorrow, as my plan is within a month of ending. Any tips for negotiating a deal like that?

      • Definitely get an Australian sales rep. I called 3 (overseas call center) and said my 3 service was cutting out, they transferred me to Australia where the guy wanted to move me to vodafone. i said i wanted HTC One X only on 12 month contract (because il be moving overseas). Told him a friend got it for 59+0 for 12 months. He didnt believe me but offered 59+10 as most he could do (with one month free). Then i asked about 49 plan and he said 49+15. Then i told him $60 was my budget and he decided 49+10 (without one month free) after a little consideration.

They are offering 4 months free on 49 plans and above for 24 months contract. Id stay away from these as going on tpg/live connected after 12 months (or selling phone) is a wiser decision.

        • Thanks for the tips buddy, I'll give it a shot. I'm very wary of being on (another) 24 month contract, especially when it turns out cheaper to buy the phone outright and go with tpg/live connect, with no contract. However this deal would do me well too, without the fuss of changing networks - Vodafone works fine for me in Canberra.

  • anyone know when this expires? still caught between getting the one x or waiting for the s3..

edit: nevermind, found it. 59+15 with 1 month free access fee, ends 31st may. bonus beats audio earphones ends 30th june.

  • can someone please put the link to the deal? for some reason not showing up for me :S

    And cheers OP, nice find

  • Dunno if anyone else succeeded but they wouldnt give me 10% off as not ADDING an account (upgrading). Was on phone trying to wrangle it out of them for 40mins - ended up getting one month free + only 10/month for handset on 59 contract. Ends up being 769 rather than 764.10 - not too bad but still damn annoyed!

Btw even better deal that i shldve gone for methinks but if u call they are giving FOUR MONTHS free from 24 month contract rather than just 2 months which is what shows on website - 1180 for 24 month contract (plus they even offered me free social media pack which adds 750mb data plus free facebook etc).

In hindsight probs should have gotten that but thinking after this i'll buy outright and use tribe or TPG. I did try to get 10% off per month on top of the 4 months but they werent that desperate :P
