Please Recommend Me Left Handed Scissors under $25

Hi fellow Left-handers,

I'd like to try some left handed scissors for once (since I'm left handed), only bringing this up now after
watching the Simpsons rerun. (the one about Ned Flanders shop)
I've been using boxcutters/normal scissors all my life and never tried using left handed scissors before.

Price range - $5-$25 and need to be comfortable to use

This looks good but is on the high end of the budget. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00006IFN8/
Is there anything cheaper you can recommend or best to go with these ones?

TIA

It's a bit of a niche item so I imagine that price is going to be pretty on-par with what you can expect to pay really. Then again, this is OzBargain and we've got some smart cookies here.

(By the way, you know in Latin 'left' is 'sinister'? Just a fun fact I thought I'd share.)

      in Latin 'left' is 'sinister'?

Oooh, I like that. Gonna remember next time someone asks

out of interest, do you use mouse with left hand too?

I am a left hander and have no problems with 'normal' scissors in left hand…

Mostly no problems, just wanted to try them and see the difference. Do have a bit of difficulty with those migoreng flavouring packets from time to time.

as a migoreng fanatic that has at least a 5 pack a week, you can actually just rip the packets if you grip it right - that way you dont need to wash the scissors too :D

        • 5 packs… is that 2-3 meals/snacks? 1 pack of mi goreng is never enough for me, even for a 'light' snack. 2 is the perfect amount imo.

  • Wouldn't it depend on the purpose for the scissors?

    • All purpose Scissors - well not for food or fabrics

I got some generic cheapy ones from Amazon. Awful to use; wouldn't cut. The Fiskars would be the best option and likely a godd prices as-is unfortunately.

I swapped back to regular scissors since I have been so used to the inside/right side blade pushing downwards… I couldn't cut anything aligned with the lefty ones!

I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that hybroid is right handed.

    • +3

Which limb are you going out on?

You have to hand it to him, he left this one alone

      • Please stop! This is not humerus! :)

  • If you hold a right handed pair upside down it suits the left handers they tell me…

I use these, works both right handed and left handed for me.

    • Already bought the $23 Fiskars ones
