Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra 128GB $1598 + Shipping / Store Pickup @ Harvey Norman

140

For those of us who dont have access to an edu account or something similar. It's the cheapest I have seen, good guys at $1599. Most other retailers are still hovering around the 2k mark.

Saw the recent deal for the s8 plus for $1223.6 but though just for the extra 300, you get a bigger screen.

  • Went to jb to see the difference between A8 and this. Wow the screen is humonguous!

    • Is the difference in pixel density noticeable? It’s bigger but they’re all around 1440p aren’t they?

      • No, the a8 is 1080 and Lcd. That's probably the biggest difference.

        Oh and 120hz…spen support…

        • Oh sorry I thought you were talking about the other S8 tabs like the plus

        • 1920*1200

      • I reckon it is, I'm trying to sell mine

I wish Sony still made tablets

I really liked the Nvidia shield K1 and wanted to see more tablets by them but they stopped making tablets too

Came in to see why this was so expensive, pretty cool its rocking a 14" screen but too expensive to just be a consumption device and probably still not up to snuff vs a Surface pro or apple equivalent for productivity so for the equivalent cost surely a pro still makes more sense?

    • I guess it depends what applications you want to run, the level of portability required, screen size, battery life etc. This device is very expensive, but there's really nothing else like it (that might be both a good and bad thing). For instance, it's a noticeably bigger screen than either iPad or Surface Pro offers, while being more touch-friendly than most Windows tablets and far more flexible in software than an iOS device. However, it is likely the least powerful of the 3 in outright performance and probably has the worst battery life too.

I think you can make an argument for all 3 in certain use cases, but your mileage may vary.

    • This is infinitely more productive than an iPad due to the flexibility of Android with the S Pen.

I say this as someone who sold a 2021 iPad Pro for this.

        Dex >>>>> iPadOS

Depends what you need. If you need a full browser, specific windows apps then this is not the tab you're looking for.

But for the rest of the average Joe's out there, it's good enough. Dex pretty much turns it into your typical windows desktop feel, sans the full extension support for Chrome.

14" and yet somehow it has a notch.

      Silly isn't it?

Really want to get this because the iPad 12.9 Pro is on it's way out with a glitchy screen.

Will have to settle for the Tab S8+. Which is actually smaller than the ipad due to the aspect ratio. Wish Android tablets adopt 3:4 screens.

  • For those who are considering getting the ultra 14.6"
It really comes down to affordability, forget the scores that all these youtubers are benchmarking and think about the daily use and what applies to you
Compare the different features of what the operating system has to offer.
Play around with the device instore and get a feel of it and how you would use it at home
