90-95% is healthy but too bitter for chocolate. Tastes like dirt.

Normaly milk chocolate is too unhealthy with too much sugar and other ingredients.

    I prefer something around 70%.

Once you start eating 90%, feel 70% is too sweet

If you cut out most sugars from your diet you will notice you will grow to like it; especially with a glass of red in winter!

      I experienced it first hand

I think like fruit and vegetables, it's over-rated, but not to the extent of being a scam (like sunscreen is).

    • Sunscreen is a scam? Is skin cancer also a scam?

      • He is referring to my post

  • Tastes very similar to the chocolate laxatives that I was given when I was young. Has much the same effect also.

Love dark bitter chocolate, don't like milk chocolate which is too sweet.
    Normal dark chocolate's (e.g. Old-Gold) flavour isn't strong enough.
    I don't consider it healthy.

Surely we must be close to the last layer of this onion?

    • Frankly surprised it hasn't become a "dark chocolate is a product of the dark web" conspiracy theory … yet.

    • Here you go another layer

  • Not my bag. May as well just eat cocoa powder straight.

    • Except cocoa powder is 100% solids, 0% fat. Big difference.

      • Big difference.

        Not in taste, IMHO!

Most people eat way too much sugar.
I eat Lindt 95% mainly for the caffeine content (sensitive to caffeine), I also don't mind the taste. I'd probably eat 99% if it was readily available.

    • 1% better

      • That is crap. You want cacao powder.

Honestly i dont find it bitter anymore, other say it's trash taste whatever, I just find it tastes like chocolate with no sugar that's it.
When i first had it, it did taste quite bitter, but now honestly it just tastes normal

  • Keto friendly

  • I prefer it these days, don’t really like normal milk chocolate on its own anymore

Regardless of %, so long as you suck on it and let it melt/ dissolve in your mouth, rather than chew it, it completely changes your dark-chocolate eating experience.

If you eat healthy and rarely snack on sugary stuff, it tastes amazing.

If you regularly stuff your face with sugary snacks, it tastes like dirt.

I find dark chocolate tastes best first thing in the morning with a coffee before you eat anything else.

I love dark chocolate. lindt 90-95% is my favourite. I tried their 97%….that extra 2% was the breaking point. didnt like that.

a square of it with coffee releases the nice coco flavour.

  • I loooooooove chocolate. Some dark chocolate can be okay and certainly eatable, but some of it is too strong and bitter for me.

We were recently given a big box of "strong" dark chocolate bunnies which no one else wanted so the kids and I melted it down as an experiment, and added milk and sweetened / condensed milk and sugar, then froze it. Just to see how it would taste. It was absolutely awful.
