Recommendation - Ceiling/Wall Mounted Mesh Wi-Fi with PoE

Looking to get a new Mesh WiFi with
- Power over Ethernet PoE (there are no power points close by)
- capable of being mounted on the ceiling or wall (the Ethernet ports are located close to the ceiling)

Any suggestions?

Also, the house has NBN HFC, so assuming the Mesh Wifi can plug directly into the black nbn box. Let me know if this won’t work.

I am a Google Household, but don’t think the Nest is PoE

Thanks

    Easy answer is Ubiquiti Unifi.
You'd need a router of some brand.. ideally a Unifi for ease of setup, but they're quite expensive for what they are and it's not essential.

100% Ubiquiti Unifi. Pay the premium once upfront, set it up and enjoy it for years faultlessly with zero maintenance.

  • I did an upgrade from AC-PRO to Wifi 6 LITE but I cannot access Myers website says some " cloudfront issue" can someone help to get around this issue. it used to be fine with AC-PRO it was jsut a swap and nothing else. Google didnt help either.

  • Agree with others, Unifi. Having a unifi family router gives you nice visibility of stats and insights… but if your motivation is simply to fix wifi then you don't need a unifi router.

NanoHD is what I have used as the standard for years but with the U6 versions coming out, I've used on the last few jobs. Depends on whether you need the capacity and bandwidth the newer units offer? For most homes - any unifi AP is going to exceed both device capacity (ie how many devices in your house can connect to each AP) and the upstream internet bandwidth. So I probably wouldn't spend $ on getting the latest and greatest - you aren't going to get the value from the purchase…
