  • A nice piece, the acrylic will scratch though

    • +1

acrylic scratches can be buffed out easily

      • Yeah but I'd rather it not scratch in the first place

        • +1

Then only buy sapphire crystal :)
Not that I've needed to try it but some polywatch would do the trick.

I'd prefer a Tissot PRX Quartz in this retro style. They should be significantly (half almost) cheaper than the Automatic version but don't seem to be at the moment.

          • @G-rig: Acrylic is bottom of the barrel stuff, Timex should have included at least some Hardlex equivalent mineral at the price point they are charging. The Tissot PRX is a beauty, good choice, I highly recommend you try them all on. My favourite is this: https://www.tissotwatches.com/en-en/t1374072103100.html

            • @justcallmeboss: Yeah mate you'd want mineral crystal as a minimum, hardlex isn't too bad. I like sapphire thou as keeps the watch looking like new for years. All built into the pricing though.

I like that one, pretty classic. I guess I'd get the sunburst blue, black probably bit more versatile but similar enough although black may be a bit plain in the quartz. Already got a sunburst blue seastar.

I tried the prx on , maybe a touch too big but would still get it one day if the deal was good ;).

            • @justcallmeboss: Yeah hesalite Speedmasters are really bottom of the barrel stuff.

        • it helps if you aren't clumsy ;)

          • @tdw: Can't help it ;)

            • @justcallmeboss: it was quite an adjustment for me when i started wearing watches again, especially mechanical ones.

Really like Timex watches. Shame the ticking noise is too loud. I had to put mine in a drawer while I was sleeping. Even then I could still hear it like I was trapped in some Edgar Allan Poe story.

    • Bahaha YES. It is an obscenely loud tick but I love my weekender.

    • I am unsure re the unity standard - it probably has the Timex loud tick - perhaps someone else here knows and could confirm.

The others all have different movements to the loud ticking ones. The Q Diver has a Seiko movement. The Waterbury is also fine.

    • Not all are noisy. I have the expedition scout, and it's very quiet.

    • Timex Q reissue uses a Seiko movement. It is very quiet

  • +1

Q digital in silver looks nice.

    Gives me Casio Royale vibes.

@WatchNerd keen to hear your thoughts

  • Nice to see a Timex diver at this price. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles but having a SS diver at this price is very good indeed!

    • +2

All that's diver about it is looks really. It's got 50m WR

      • I would've expected 100m minimum. This would make more of a dress watch than a diver then.

        • +2

Plastic lens too. Just get the Casio Duro if you want a quartz diver under $100.

      • Yes - it might have Diver in the name but this one is not intended for that use. It might be diver styled or inspired - but I wouldn't be getting this one wet.

  • +1

Seems have to pay delivery once you use the extra discount code…

  • Seems only the all black Timex Diver is available, would buy the silver

  • That diver strap is not for the hairier gentleman (or woman).

  • when did surfstitch jack their free shipping threshold to $100?

edit: i logged into my account and apparently if you're part of their loyalty scheme, you get free express shipping.

    • Damn how u do

Does it require spend or just email signup

      I could have saved 7.99

      My life is over

  • A Timex watch without indiglo just doesn't feel right.

  • Shopback 18% cashback, if it tracks…

    • yeah i got 13.74 back from shopback after paying $91-93

  • +1

i decided to try one of the addies dive submariner homages in quartz ….very impressed and seems to come from sale production line as steel dive but in quartz, .for the $60 from aliexpress with ceramic bezel unless you want the timex name but do want a diver with stainless bracelet might be worth looking at ….
