Will any OzBargainers be attending the XBOX + Bethesda Fan Fest live hosted watch party in Melbourne?
Has anyone been to one of these Fan Fest events before and can advise whether you'd recommend attending in person as opposed to tuning into the stream?
As someone with a job, I won't be attending. Plus they've already closed entries to get a ticket.
They give away free crap, whether that free crap is worthwhile or not is an unknown. That's the only reason anyone goes to these things, I imagine.
I won a ticket. Never been to a live event before but I’m still looking forward to it. They’re smart enough to know it needs to be more than just watching the event on a projector and they’re only doing like 4 live events worldwide so I think there will be some effort put into it.
When I registered I had to put in my tshirt size so at the very least I might get a free shirt out of it 😃
That's what I'm thinking, in that they haven't been able to host these sort of events for the past few years due to the pandemic issues.
With E3 cancelled and the recent announcements of delays to the two big Bethesda titles I also believe that may mean they put more effort into the live watch parties, using some of the budget previously allocated for E3 to celebrate the Fan Fest events.
I got tickets earlier. A few years ago EB Games held a similar event in Melbourne at a local cinema. Loads of giveaways (I got a PlayStation umbrella that's still getting use today).
Overall, it's a lot of fun. I haven't been to Fortress Melbourne but it looks interesting.
Have emails already been sent out? If so I didn't get one, which is a shame as it's my birthday and I thought it would have been a cool present and I already had the day off.

Will have to make your own way there etc and wont know if it will be sent to you via email or whether would need to meet up prior to hand over as additional information will be provided for the event on the week of May 30th

Don't really see the point to be coralled into a room to watch a pre-recorded show on a projector. If it was a live event then maybe worth considering. Otherwise 20% off Xbox Gear is the only perk.
