Not many chow chow dogs in Sydney so if you seen one which looks like kindly let us know or identical…. To the updated picture, most probably is the person who took the dog. Regardless of the reason the person who returned Simba unharmed will get $10 000 no questions ask.

Maybe post this in the Sydney subreddit? Not everyone on OzBargain lives in Sydney.

    Hope you find your dog

Forum is even better than the deals section. I used to come for the deals now its the forum posts.

Best of luck, some people are awful.

Aww, so cute! Hope Simba is found and returned soon.

How do you know the dog was taken and not merely escaped?

It's a crazy world we live in when people are pinching other people's pets.

    • +1

Yep, we had 3 chooks pinched last month. (No, they weren't nabbed by a fox, we know what that looks like. )

Facebook in my area has a "Lost pets/dogs" page. Check if there's one for Sydney/NSW as well.
Hopefully, Simba will be home soon.

Good luck finding him! Our dog was with dog minders many years ago and he got out, some kind stranger picked him up and held him for a few weeks waiting for the reward $$ to increase. Unfortunately only put the pieces together after we paid the reward ie they did not want us to pay by bank transfer, but to leave the money at a mutually agreed location so we didn't have to meet face to face.

We were relieved and said we wanted to meet face to face to at least say thank you, they agreed but met wearing a hat, sunglasses and big puffy jacked during the middle of Feb in Perth…it wasn't for a few days we realised our dog was in too good a condition to have been 'in the bush' during a heatwave in Perth. Amazingly enough the phone number/s they coordinated the reward drop from were all disconnected.

The only saving grace is they only saw the rewards listed on the fliers we put up and not the one we advertised in the local paper doubling the reward.

Hopefully the moral of this story is that if the reward is big enough they will be returned, unfortunately I think this happens with rare dog breeds fairly often!

Thanks. Unfortunately the world is filled with these scumbags…. however the person who returned Simba unharmed will get paid 100% no questions asked.

Wow. You haven't got a comma in figure so it took me a moment to realise it's ten thousand.

Do you know how he got out?

the person who returned Simba unharmed will get $10000 no questions ask.

Do you want your dog stolen again? Offering a return with such a large sum attached and a "no questions asked" clause only opens you up to repeated attacks and scams.

Also, call your local council and all the vets around the area and quote them your dogs microchip number. If the dog shows up, tell them to contact you immediately and to call the police.

There is also a good chance your dog was targeted because of its breed and will either be sold interstate or it will be shipped overseas due to its rarity.

Get the dog back first then worry about the rest

    • Didn't realise dognapping is real :(

in addition to posting on facebook groups, if you haven't done so already, perhaps try notifiying other places like the local council, RSPCA, animal rescues and local vets.

https://www.dolforums.com.au/ & https://www.dogzonline.com.au/ is a forum for dog breeders, so it might be worth a try too.

    good luck.

You named the dog Simba of course he has gone missing. His father was murdered in front of his eyes now he's gone soul searching. I would expand my search to a warthog and a meerkat.
