Samsung 85-Inch The Frame LS03A 4K QLED - $2799 - Good Price Good Buy ?

Hello Everyone

I was looking to purchase an 85" TV.

This is NOT for gaming.
This is NOT for critical watching.

But needs a good refresh rate for smooth picture and overall movie enjoyment.

Budget is under $3000 per TV and I need 2 TVs.

Saw Samsung Frame 85", not bad.
Came across a price locally offered to me at a retailer for $5600 for both TVs Is this a good buy at $2799 e.a ?

Needs to be 85" not smaller.
UA8000 I know is $2000 but is not as refined in picture quality as The Frame surely is.

Can I do better at $2799 ?
It is the Frame 85" 2021 version

don't care about 'Frame' artwork either.

Thanks Everyone

  • You cannot compare the Frame with the UA8000 as the frame has a budget QLED panel and the UA8000 has a budget LED panel. Usually the equivalent to the Frame is Samsung's budget QLED range which is the Q60 and of course minus the Frame aesthetics. If you like the looks of the frame and it's other use as a painting then the Frame is a nice TV however I would not use it as a primary TV as it belongs to Samsun's lower end QLED range and for that purpose I would choose a Q80 or even better a Neo LED in order to future proof the TV as QLED development has come to an end.

The Frame most certainly has a place in your house but not as a 85" everyday use TV specially when you are buying two.

    • Thanks for responding .
And the ones you recommend are under $3000 each for 85" ?

      • If price and the size are the main deciding factors then the Frame 85" for 3k is a fantastic buy. I'd assume you are getting this price due to your model being the 2021 and they must be clearing out stock of 85" as not many people would buy an 85" Frame as they would invest on a better picture quality model instead and the majority who would buy a Frame would stick to 65"-75" sizes as it makes more sense as wall decoration. They already have the 2022 model in the market but the difference between that and the 2021 are negligible imo.

  • Can I do better at $2799 ?

It's listed for $3799 at both Harvey Norman and Good Guys, so $2799 sounds pretty decent. Even if you do find it cheaper, I can't imagine it would be any that much cheaper.

    • I meant , can I do better in terms of 85" TV.
Is there another TV under $3k at 85" that beats or bests The Frame 85" 2021

      • Does it have to be Samsung?

If you want to stick with Samsung then walk into GG and JB and ask them to do a better deal on the Q60 which is essentially the mainstream equivalent of the Frame TV and I'm sure you can get it cheaper than 3000 but you will miss out on the minimalistic looks and digital art available on the Frame. If those things are important to you then you already have a pretty good deal.

Also GG can do a thing called a package deal where they could throw in free concierge with the TV for the same price or cheaper than the advertised/negotiated price.

        • doesn't have to be Samsung at all.
TV 85" under $3k that is better than this Frame, is the question.
Don't care about Frame Artwork either.

  • Hey @jabberwocky

I am also looking for 85” under 3k budget. But i couldn’t managed to get the Frame under 3k just wondering if Harvey can do the price match

  • The frame 2021 does not have a matte display. so if you have a bright room the Frame TV 2021 screen will reflect all windows.
Even the ART does not show properly as you will see reflections from your windows.

The 2022 Model has a matte display. I compare the frame tv 2022 vs any other tv in the show room and all reflect the light of the other TVs except the frame.
I got the frame tv because I have a bright room with windows everywhere. I do not have a media room tv for a shiny screen tv.

    • Thanks for your inputs but a little over a year late .. ;)
Been enjoying 2 of those for living and bedroom for non critical watching for over a year now.
