Thanks for the post, albeit the reviews from fellow OzBargainers for the actual product aren't great though (see previous posts).

I'm going to be very unOzbargain and say that it's worth not getting the cheap scales. After going through at least 5 different cheap ones from Amazon and kitchen shops, I should've spent a couple of extra dollars and got this straight away.

It's the most accurate out of all tested, doesn't turn off after a minute of inactivity, can pull the screen out for when you're using larger bowls, has physical buttons and not those "touchscreen" buttons that don't work with wet hands…. Pretty much every fault I had with the other scales this one sorted out. And no i'm not associated with Oxo, but I do like their products

    • Nice, didn’t know oxo even made kitchen scales but I should have guessed. The only issue I have with my current one is that the weight doesn’t update instantaneously and takes a second or two which isn’t great when you’re putting stuff in.

Is it the same with the oxo?

I did notice a lag with a few of the other scales that doesn't exist on the Oxo. This scale pretty much ticks every box. It would be nice to go down to 0.1g, but that is just being greedy

    • I have this scale, and agree that it’s great.

I reckon it’s worth paying more. For me, sometimes it’s worth it to pay a premium and just be fine with it.

    • Fully agree. I’ve had it with my one which has touch sensitive buttons. Plus mine take button cells which are less convenient than rechargeable AAs.

I’m tempted to buy an analogue spring scale from somewhere like my mum had for decades. Might have a look around in some op shops.

  • Mod, please mark expired. Not sure how to do it. May be still available at Myer. Anyway, Mod, feel free to edit my post. Cannot believe these get sold out so quickly even at this time. Did any ozbargainers actually received it as a Christmas gift last year or birthday gift recently?

  • There must be some benefit to seller for creating deals on Amazon, otherwise I can not think of one reason why deals keep publish in midnight? I assume seller want to gain the benefit of publishing a deal but minimize the number of customer who can actually score the deal?

Assuming above its correct then these sellers are effectively thugs, like how Appliance Online impose an Australia wide delivery exclusion when there is a ebay special.

  • amazon has this stock now but dispatching time 1-2 months
