Multiple pet insurances on different providers

hey guys! I just recently found a kitten on the street and have been fostering him since Good Friday. After a few people tried to claim him as their new pet, all of them fell through and my partner has become increasingly attached to him. We are keeping him now but we have a dog and a cat already and they are both with Woolworth pet insurance. I plan to get him on pet insurance but wanted to minimize my current expenses and maximize the benefit I could get.
For example, I am with Medibank and getting pet insurance with Medibank gives me extra discount rather than getting my kitten on Woolworths pet insurance using other companies that also provide pet insurance.

Give the kitten the same name as your current cat and claim either on the existing policy.

Fake the kitten's birthday and breed as well. Assume kitten is not chipped. Otherwise this is a weird kidnap story.

        kidnap?

        Hol up

        • If we go the effort of hiding to save a buck, might as well. In other words, silly idea suggested.

    • I am sure you find a youtube to clone the chip. Or some Aliexpress you can get 2 chips with the same number including sirynge to place them.

Pet insurance is all over the place in terms of benefits. So make sure you are getting equivalent benefits for cheaper and not reduced benefits for cheaper.

Since insurance attaches to the specific pet, I cant see why it matters if you have insurance with multiple providers. I have home insurance and car insurance with different providers (I have 2 cars and each car is insured with someone different, because for some reason insurers give cheap premiums for one car and not the other, but the cheap one varies from insurer to insurer). In any case, AFAIK its not different for pets.

  • Each pet can have their own insurer. Just because they all live in the same household or owned by the same person does not mean they need to have the same insurer.

You may be eligible for a discount on premiums with multiple policies held with the same insurer.

Be wary of Medibank pet insurance, just because they presumably insure people well, doesn't mean their pet policies are as comprehensive or affordable when compared to others.

Have a look at Petsonme. 100% coverage, $50 excess
