If you need more ebay has unbranded for much cheaper (I bought a huge pack ages ago I can’t remember how much I paid).
I find them great for closing food, even better than plastic clips. For clothes are a bit small but work ok with smaller items.
Here on eBay 120 for $16.72

    • Cool thanks. Do they get tangled in the peg basket?

      • Mm good question, they do a little but nothing major. (I usually leave on the line, but they are a bit tangled in the bag they came with)

      There's different grades of stainless steel pegs - 201, 304, 316.
I believe the Woolies ones are 304

      • Well the ones I bought are pretty good. Btw I paid $22 for 300 pegs (that listing is now gone as I bought 1 year ago).

      • I'm holding out for Aldi to have them again, I believe they were 316 & at a similar-ish price.

Yes, the Woolworth ones are 304 and the Aldi ones are 316.

For those wondering what the numbers mean. 316 is more rust resistant than 304 and is commonly used in marine applications. It will be more durable than 304.

        • How hard were the Aldi ones to get? Are they the kind of special buy to sell out immediately?

Looking for some pegs for sous vide cooking…I'm guessing 316 isn't really necessary for this application (constant contact with water, being submerged in water bath, but regular tap water rather than saltwater, so corrosion less of an issue?).

@caprimulgus: I think they normally sell them twice a year, during the 'eco' special buys. I gotta say they do go quick. Everytime I have seen them, they have stock for the day only, so do go early. No one else sells 316 Stainless steel pegs as cheap as Aldi, many online stores charged triple the price of Aldi for the same thing.

For sous vide, there will be no issues using 304 at all. Many stainless steel cookware and cutlery use 304, so no problems.

If these pegs are as resistant to rust as my father-in-law is to praise, they'll be terrific !!

They are! I have a cheap ebay version and leave them outside even. I also have the umbrella type stainless steel (ebay and Kmart) and they are wonderful.
      Here the Kmart one

    • LOL, I first read this as " these pegs are as resistant to rust as my father-in-law"

  • I used to buy IKEA pegs in a basket and finally need some more, roofing they don't stick them anymore.

Surely at $4.50 for 15 thats a very expensive way to buy pegs.

    • Gee, using that logic you're going to think I was really ripped off with what I paid for my pair of nipple clamps!!
