PSA - Timezone Price Increase.

Well folks…. just been to local TZ and found…

Most games up from $2.00 to $2.40 for VIP.
Big games like DDR Transformer now $2.60 for VIP
Ticket games are also up from $2.00 to $2.40 for VIP.

So about 20-30 percent inflation.

I noticed some games are made a lot harder to win jackpot to the point of cheating (eg enemies run 10% faster than when I played last time) making it impossible to even try winning.

Sad times ahead.

Cheers

Zz

Haven't visited a timezone since 1995. Anything new?

    • +1

Was just thinking similar… didnt even know they existed anymore…

Thats strange. Only a few weeks ago double credit post earned a lot of pluses in this forum.

Daytona is still pretty new. Go easy on the handbrake to drift.

      • Still got NeoGeo 6-game machines, Afterburner, GoldenAxe etc?

    People regularly visit timezone?

  • There are no corporate standards for redemption games and level of difficulty and jackpot amounts vary store to store.

    • That's surprising given they're all owned by the same group (see teeg.com)… How do you know the difficulty level varies by store?

      • Because i go around to different ones so i get a sense of what settings they are on just by playing. Been playing redemption games since i was little.

      • Long awaited reply but all games are individually set difficulty in the onboard computer. I regularly play at 2 timezones and 1 of them has a very low difficulty on "Quick Drop" where I can win the jackpot once every 3 games or so. I have won it 3 times in a row once. Tickets are also different. One resets to 600 tickets on jackpot but gives 50 when you get close, whereas the other resets to 500, but offers 100 tickets if you get close.

    Most games

    Invest in a console?

    Ticket games

The gifts might be cheaper if bought from Aliexpress or Kmart.

    • +1

You cannot play DDR, Time Crisis 5, DanceRush Kingdom, Halo, Midnight Tune with console sadly.

      • +2

        Halo?

        • Ah you missed the good stuff. Go to Eastland Vic, Northland Vic, Kingpin Galactic Circus Vic and give it a try

          • @burningrage: Wrong state sadly.

Any good deals on Adelaide to melb flights I could take advantage of to experience the arcade Halo experience?

    • Where's the fun in that? Kingpin have better prizes like ipad, bose, etc

I didn't even know that Timezone still existed!

The last decent one of those places I have good memories from was Intencity in Hurstville Westfield!

    • +1

      Intencity, that's a name I haven't heard in a long time

  • O.P.'s username checks out.

I will make sure I tell my 10 year old whilst I plan to do adult things myself
Grown ups going into timezone without kids is just plain weird

    • +1

      I beg your pardon!

    • +2

      Wow. You sound fun.

We all relive our youth in different ways. For many, gaming never left their life.

If this is weird, cosplay must melt your brain.

And for some an adult sitting OR STANDING in front of a screen in a kids place playing games is quite pathetic, each to their own.

      Found the boomer

      • -5

So what? I'm glad I'm 56 and not part of your generation. I grew up doing actually things….seeing actual places and meeting actual people, not playing games, sittin on my backside and sending dik piks to socially awkward losers via an app, I travelled half the world backpacking before i was 25 and i would not change a thing if i had to do it again….ENJOY YOUR KIDS GAMES

P.S. My 36 year old wife of 10 years does not seem to mind me either

        • +1

…and yet with all your wealth of knowledge and life experience and your young wife who is somehow relevant to your point, here you are on a community bargain website, on a topic of no interest to you, giving your time and attention "as an adult sitting or standing in front of a screen in a kids space" to a PSA.

Sure i can believe you had a great life! :)

@mantrex19: I have CHILDREN that go to timezone… I go with them so they can enjoy KIDS ACTIVITIES

            • +4

@Motek Benzona: Then enjoy being there with your kids, or leave them unattended as you see fit…why judge the others that are there just because it doesn't appeal to you…

and yes your generation clearly seems to be the best, explains why you married someone 20 years your junior.

              • @mantrex19: Grumpy boomer, in penalty box for attacking everyone. Needs to chill with a game.

    • LOL

  • If people don't feel like going in person, there's a limited number of redemption games you can play at arcade.online

Run by the same people as Timezone, but out of Singapore and you can redeem gift cards as prizes.

  • Don't go to timezone, they don't even really exist anymore. Sydney now has a kickass non timezone one right in the middle of the cbd.

  • Our local one is now called iPlay, looks exactly the same as it was when it was time zone.

    • I went to the one in Qld. The prize values aren't that great for top shelf prizes
