    Both?

For those who think it’s easy to win the Champions League remember a certain manager of 27 years could only win it twice

    • +2

not saying ucl isnt hard to win but that same manager won the European cup which is now UCL with a team from the SPL….. also needs to be noted for a 'long time' you had caps on foreign players in the UCL/European cup which dis-advantaged teams from England.

As a Utd fan i hope LFC dont win either - so a poll option for i hope they dont win either needs to be added

      • as a Everton fan I'm just happy we didn't drop
I dint care what they win lol. notba city fan so hopefully city lose

        • As a Liverpool fan, it was a brilliant match and you guys deserved the win (eventually)!

    • pretty sure ange has not had a team in champions

    • -2

The champions league only started in 1992/1993. AF took over at UTD in 86. So in 21 perhaps 22 years, he only won it twice - not 27.

        European Cup/Champions League **
        Same thing genius.

        • It's not. EC had no group stages - there was a lot more luck involved. A KO competition where if you lost, you're out. The CL is fundamentally different in that teams can afford to be tactical in both the group stages and two-legged ties. The EC also only included the league champions.

The EC was MUCH harder to win. The CL now includes runners up, groups stages and two-legs at almost all the KO round stages.

The PL is MUCH harder to win than the CL but perhaps easier than the EC.

The 606 team have been debating this for the past few weeks too.

              @gimli: No. I support Arsenal.

              • @o53djz7qTPY4der: Wow, another Arsenal supporter!
                That makes TWO!

When I was over in the UK in 2019, I rang the Emirates Stadium to find out when the match started, and they said "what time can you come?

    Maybe neither in the end.

Its just scary to seeing how Liverpool have advanced in these last 3-4 years despite such a low net spend.

  • I think this year Premier League because it's only getting harder win against wealthier clubs like City where they can afford to have more squad depth and stay more consistent. We play well in the Champions league because of the fan support and the determination from our history of never giving up. We should still be competitive in the Champions league next year but City keep buying quality players so its hard to compete unless we can increase our transfer budget.

  • Any REAL football fan wants their team to win the league first above all else end of story, anyone disagreeing is a plastic.

      classic plastic comment

Wtf are you on about? I am 56, a lifelong gooner who grew up 10 minutes walk from the ground, grew up on the Highbury terraces starting from the age of 3, graduating from the schoolboys to the north bank and have probably been to more games and shed more tears of happiness and joy that you could in 20 lifetimes. My team is in my heart, they are part of me. So please shut up with your absolute ill informed nonsense and calling me a plastic as you do not have a single clue what you are talking about……I very much doubt you are English, so run along back to see your Aussie "franchise" play low grade dross

        That is all

        • -2

          Sounds fake…
You'll understand when you meet a real fan

When you've won a European Cup, you'll understand

Any REAL football fan wants their team to win the league first above all else

Spoken like someone who's never watched anything beyond English footbal lol

Most leagues are quite comfortably won by the same 2 clubs every season. In England, there's a little more variety in winners but it's still usually the same contenders.

The league essentially comes down to a few games, or can even be won or lost in matches against joke teams. It will never be as prestigious as winning a competition consisting of the entire continent's best teams, especially with the historic and cultural signicance that the CL trophy has gained.

The only clubs that care about winning the league are those that are not good enough to do it. The majority of big teams spend all their money on winning the CL.

    Ask Pep.

  • PL, but it requires MC to lose. The CL would be a nice consolation prize.

  • +2

And the final is on 9Gem.

    • Cool. Don’t need to use the Stan Sport 7 day trial

  • -1

bottled to title time for you blokes to bottle the UCL

    • lol
Why do you say that Liverpool ‘bottled’ the title.
They won their game last night and managed to accrue a staggering 92 points. Not enough ?

      • The disappointing thing for me was for the sake of converting a single draw to a win, they missed out. They only lost two games (MC lost three) but it was the draws not converted to wins that meant they didn't win the title again.

        • Yeah I get you mate.
I am a Chelsea fan and for the sake of fairness, wanted Liverpool to win over City.
Coz City like my club Chelsea have somewhat ruined the game, Liverpool for me are doing things the right way.
Having said that though, City are the deserved winners. Pep 🐐

Bottled the title now you bottled the UCL you literally had 24 shots to 4 and still lost bahahahahahahahahahahaha

        • ‘You’ 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
Can’t even make an objective argument with some people
I am not a Liverpool fan you ‘genius’
Also I love how petty you are, felt the need to come back here after a week to seemingly rub it in my face or something ?
