Recommendations for Quality Offset Smoker

Hello There,

I'm looking to surprise my husband with a decent offset smoker and was looking for recommendations.

My biggest requirement is that I want something quality that is built to last.

I'm not really knowledgeable in the smoker department (all I know is he wants an offset one) so would appreciate recommendations from people.

Thank you in advance.

Is offset smoking where you take money out of your offset account and smoke it?

  • Weber kettle with snake method still one of the cheapest and reliable go-tos i believe

  • Budget? $300-$10000?
A good quality one can cost thousands.

  • Does your husband actually want an offset?.
It's more work than many alternative..

And if he does …buy him the one he wants. If you're into bbq enough to want to run a proper offset smoker, you probably also know roughly what kind/model you want also.

    Off to Bunnings with you!

I have been using smokers for 25 years (thanks to a posting to the US) and have gone through a few over the years.

I now use a Pit Boss Pro Series 4 Vertical Smoker as I discovered the convenience of pellet smokers a few years ago and my 70 year old hips appreciate not having to bend down!

Two of my mates use the Pit Boss 1150g Navigator Wood Pellet Grill offset smoker (also a pellet smoker) and love them.

    Bunnings, of all places……..
